By Victoria Lewis | 3rd June 2026It’s official: the artist CJ Hendry‘s iconic Flower Shop pop-up will be landing in Brisbane this winter, and when news broke this morning, it sent local flower fanatics into a frenzy.
You may have seen the viral activation at Sydney’s Royal Botanic Garden recently, where people queued for hours to get their hands on whimsical fabric flowers of all shapes and colours. Well, now it’s about to be our turn, Brisbane. Following an elusive update to the Australian-born artist’s online calendar of events, we know is that the pop-up will take place in Fortitude Valley for just over two weeks from late June.
Still have questions? Here’s everything you need to know about CJ Hendry’s upcoming Brisbane Flower Shop pop-up.
What are the details of CJ Hendy’s Brisbane Flower Shop pop-up?
CJ Hendry has confirmed that the Brisbane Flower Shop will run from 25 June to 12 July at 1 Arthur Street, Fortitude Valley.
Each day, the pop-up will open from 10am – 6pm, and have stock of up to 100 different flower varieties, and yes, before you ask, a small portion of the highly sought-after Australian natives will be present.
As for pricing, each stem will be $10, with your tenth stem free. With no tickets required for entry, we expect there will be a crowd. Keep reading to see what to expect based on CJ Hendry’s previous events.
What can you expect at the pop-up?
Though the CJ Hendry Flower Shop activation will be different to her recent Sydney Flower Market in May, we can make some educated guesses on the vibes to expect. The Flower Shop (the market version) took over the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney for a few short weeks with a vast selection of faux stems, from beloved classics to Australian-exclusive designs, including native florals such as wattle and gum nuts, which quickly became sell-out styles.
Anyone could attend, each stem sold for just $5 (plus every entrant got a freebie), and there were no limits on how many customers could purchase, so yes, it was a bit of a frenzy. Though the Brisbane iteration will be a slightly different format, our tips are simple: line up early, scroll through the Flower Shop’s Instagram page to get an idea of your favourites, and brace yourself for a crowd. Yet, do we think it’ll be worth it? One hundred per cent.
What is CJ Hendry’s Flower Shop?
In short, this event is a pop-up shop where visitors can buy their own little slice of CJ Hendry’s fabric flowers. Each activation is delightfully surreal, filled with buckets overflowing with every type of bloom imaginable, all handcrafted from different types and textures of felt and fabric.
The Flower Shop and its sister market are travelling in-person-only activations that have visited everywhere from Singapore and Melbourne to Hong Kong, gaining so much traction that a permanent retail store has since opened in New York City, with Sydney and Hong Kong locations soon to follow. The internationally renowned pop-up finds success wherever it lands, in part because everyone can get in on the fun. After all, who doesn’t want to add a little whimsy to their life right now?
