Sydney Through The Eyes Of Our Director, Tracy Sinclair

Tracy's POV

By Tracy Sinclair | 4th October 2024

A whirlwind three days in Sydney saw Style Director, Tracy Sinclair, and Style Magazine’s Editor, Kiri Johnston, dashing to PR meet-and-greets, catching up with agency clients, and, in between, squeezing in a bit of shopping and eating a lot of falafel.

Where We Stayed

Hotel Morris in Haymarket, Sydney, is a stunning blend of Italian Renaissance architecture and modern Australian design. Both a boutique hotel and an evocative bar, it offers a unique atmosphere of intrigue and charm, with moody lighting and densely hung artwork setting the tone. The Italian Eggs Benedict are the best I’ve ever tasted – rich, flavourful, and perfectly balanced. If they’re not on the menu, it’s worth asking the chef nicely to whip them up. Hotel Morris is sexy, cool, and different to the usual corporate travel options.

Where We Ate

When you’re moving from place to place, it’s tempting to grab fast food, but travelling with a vegetarian narrows the choice. Or does it? Jimmy’s Falafels (another incredible Merivale offering), was our go-to. In the heart of the CBD, it’s super popular and bustling with city workers. You can eat in, or grab and go. We loved the pitas – a tasty and healthy lunch when you’re on the move.

Where We Shopped

Song for the Mute is my latest obsession. This is street style, beautifully, or rather, perfectly, done. The SFTM x Adidas 004 collab is lit. The colour combo, the detail… we had to indulge. The boys in the store gave us a sneak peek of what’s coming through and it is insane! So, watch this space sneaker fiends.

Maison Essentiele in Oxford Streets’ designer precinct is a gem of a find. We loved the oversized leather and suede bags of NZ designer Georgia Jay. Currently in wishlist.

The New Trend, also in Oxford Street, is our eternal fashion love in Sydney. With edgy brands like The Attico, Darkpark, and Wardrobe NYC, (I’m especially loving Rohe right now), this two-level contemporary boutique is always worth a visit.
