Luxury, Recharged: A Porsche-Powered Spa Escape to Byron Bay
Luxe and loaded
By Kiri Johnston | 4th June 2025Looking for the ultimate weekend reset? We road-tripped in the all-electric Porsche Macan 4 to Byron Bay’s award-winning, luxury resort for the exclusive launch of Vanessa Megan Skincare at Osprey Spa, and it was everything you could want in a luxury escape — sleek design, nature, skincare, and just the right amount of nothing. Here’s how it all unfolded.
The drive: fast, quiet, effortless
We left Brisbane on a grey Friday, the Porsche Macan 4 Electric humming beneath us like it had something to prove — and it kind of did. No set plans. No itinerary. Just a weekend away, a car built for the future, and a solid excuse to unplug.

The Macan handled the drive with quiet confidence. It’s fast (0 to 100 fast), but it’s not shouting about it. The windows were down, salt air rolling in, and the noise of the week slipping further behind us with every kilometre. Smooth, calm, and quietly powerful — even when we weren’t going anywhere, I kept wanting to get back in the car.
The stay: rainforest meets luxury As soon as we pulled into Elements of Byron, everything softened. Nestled on 50 acres of rainforest and oceanfront, this is Byron at its most refined. Villas are tucked away among trees, boardwalks thread through paperbark forest, and the air smells like eucalyptus and salt. You breathe differently here.
Our Luxury Villa felt more like a private retreat than a hotel room — cool concrete floors, plush robes, timber accents, and rain tapping gently on the roof. Even the Porsche parked outside looked like it belonged: still, sculptural, and low-key luxe.

We slowed down without trying. Coffee on the deck. Ocean swims between showers. Walks along Belongil Beach. Long baths. Guilt-free naps. No pressure to do anything, but space to do whatever we felt like.
The spa: skin, soul, reset We were there for the launch of Vanessa Megan’s exclusive partnership with Osprey Spa — and this is not your average resort facial menu. Vanessa Megan is one of Australia’s leading clean skincare brands, with highly active, plant-based formulas designed to deliver real results.
I booked the Fire & Frost Cryotherapy Facial, a powerful 90-minute treatment that uses extreme temperatures and deep massage to stimulate collagen, plumpness, and cellular renewal. It was the kind of facial that pulls you out of your head — cold masks, warm compresses, botanical serums. Everything slowed down. The glow was instant, but the feeling stayed with me all weekend.
My fiancé, meanwhile, made himself at home by the adults-only pool, soaking up the stillness with a book and a few hours of glorious nothing.

The food: elevated, easy, delicious That night, we wandered to Azure Bar & Grill, the resort’s signature dining space. It was elevated but easy — moody lighting, ocean air, and the quiet hum of content diners. We devoured oysters (obviously), native bush ricotta agnolotti, a Scotch Fillet with a side of silky Paris mash, and finished with a classic crème brûlée. No notes needed.
The morning: paddocks and pastries We ventured to Three Blue Ducks at The Farm for breakfast the next day — a Byron Bay staple that feels generous without trying too hard. Fresh juice, great coffee, and seasonal food that made us feel good. No overthinking, no fancy tweaks — just honest food surrounded by open paddocks.

The vibe: design, nature, stillness Elements of Byron isn’t just a place to stay — it’s a place to recalibrate. The rainforest setting. The spa. The design. The quiet. It all works together to shift you into a different gear. The Porsche Macan 4 felt like an extension of that energy — clean, effortless, and built with intention.
When it was time to leave, the rain hadn’t let up, which somehow made it even better. Byron has a way of feeling most like itself when it’s grey, soft, and a little wild. We drove home with no music, just mist, road, and the low hum of an engine designed to disappear beneath you.

Sometimes, you don’t need a big adventure. Just a few days of space, stillness, and something beautiful to move you forward.
