The Point Hotel Is Undergoing A Major Transformation: Inside Brisbane’s New Riverside Luxury Stay
Get to the point
Brisbane’s iconic riverside retreat is entering its next chapter. Long loved for its sweeping river views and effortless proximity to the CBD, Point Hotel (formerly The Point Brisbane Hotel) is preparing for a major transformation that will elevate the boutique stay into a new standard of inner-city luxury.
The iconic Kangaroo Point property is undergoing a significant redesign that blends its signature riverside calm with a fresh, contemporary edge. The result? A polished urban resort experience that feels both elevated and unmistakably Brisbane.

A luxe new chapter
Expect natural textures, lush greenery, and warm, atmospheric lighting that captures the relaxed rhythm of Queensland living. Point Hotel’s standout spaces – including the garden-framed pool, the sophisticated Lamberts Restaurant, and the sweeping rooftop Eagles Nest bar – are all receiving a thoughtfully curated refresh.

This design evolution comes to life through the expertise of Bergman & Co, the award-winning studio behind The Continental Sorrento and Hotel Esplanade, alongside hospitality fitout specialists Unita, known for shaping some of Brisbane’s most iconic venues, including MAYA and Fiume. Together, they’re crafting a refined new aesthetic that feels premium, modern, and deeply connected to place.

Let’s talk food
A renewed hotel calls for a renewed culinary vision. Under the direction of Head Chef Marcus Turner, Point Hotel will unveil a fully reimagined food and beverage identity in 2026. Guests can look forward to fresh, seasonal Queensland produce transformed into modern, thoughtful dishes designed for everything from relaxed breakfasts to shared evening moments.
For those visiting during the transformation, dining remains uninterrupted. Services will temporarily relocate to the hotel’s rooftop, ensuring guests continue to enjoy exceptional hospitality paired with panoramic skyline views.

When can you experience it
From 15 December, work begins on reimagining the lobby, bar, and restaurant – the first step in a carefully phased transformation. This will be followed by an upgraded pool and wellness precinct, as well as elevated guest room enhancements, positioning Point Hotel at the forefront of Brisbane’s hospitality scene as the city moves into its Olympic decade.
Point Hotel’s new era is on the horizon — and it’s set to impress.
