A Global Hotel Giant Is Reviving Brisbane’s Former Hilton Hotel
Just in
By Bianca Licina | 9th May 2025After saying goodbye to Brisbane’s Hilton Hotel, the city’s been buzzing with anticipation – who’s moving in? Well, the wait is over, and we’ve got the scoop.
Say hello to InterContinental Brisbane, your next go-to for luxury stays, long lunches, and skyline views. Slated to open in late June, this world-class hotel and dining destination is set to breathe new life into the iconic Elizabeth Street address – and trust us, it’s worth the hype.
Sitting pretty right next to Queen Street Mall, the hotel will be part of a grand vision imagined by none other than architectural legend Harry Seidler. His blueprint? A seamless blend of hospitality, retail, and entertainment, connecting Wintergarden and the Regent Theatre into one vibrant urban playground.
So, what’s in store?
A lot. InterContinental Brisbane will be rolling out 321 luxe guest rooms (hello, skyline views), plus four restaurants and bars, and expansive conference and event spaces for when you need to work and play. The hotel is undergoing a full two-year transformation that blends Seidler’s iconic original design with InterContinental’s signature touch – think cultural discovery, innovation, and world-class service.
This marks Queensland’s third InterContinental, joining the glam ranks of Hayman Island and Sanctuary Cove. And Brisbane? She’s ready to step into the spotlight.
Keep your eyes peeled – InterContinental Brisbane is opening mid-year, and it’s going to be big.
