Everything You Need To Know About The Palm Springs-Inspired Hotel On The Gold Coast

Ultimate Cali vibes.

Inspired by the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs, the owners of The Pink Hotel nailed the relaxed Cali style in the heart of Coolangatta with lit-up palm trees surrounding the hotel. The boutique 18-room hotel (formerly named Coolangatta Ocean View Motel) was bought by new owners and received a fresh coat of pink paint and refurbishment back in October last year to restore the original building with a hell of a lot more character.

One of The Pink Hotel's guest rooms.

Each room is filled with groovy interiors to make your stay ever so enjoyable, as well as matching flamingo robes, neon lights, state of the art appliances including Yamaha speakers and retro Smeg fridges stocked with beer. You may even get lucky with a vintage record player in your room with some classic vinyls including one by the one of a kind, Jimmy Hendrix.

Despite only having opened its doors six months ago, the hotel has already become home to many epic parties on the coast including Tammy Hembrow’s Saski Collection Neon Party launch and the Abrand Jeans X TJ Swim End of Summer Party, which a few of our Stylers nabbed an invite to, and we must say they sure do know how to hold a party!

Globe Skate brand Volcom and rock band Hockey Dad will be also taking over the venue for a Sunday sesh on 7th of April for their Truly Checked Out party. Watch Volcom’s Global Skate team to shred up the skate ramp, enjoy cool beers and munch on free eats from Eddie’s Grub House. With free entry, doors are open to the public from midday till 6pm – make sure you get in early before they reach capacity!

Each weekend, the hotel comes to life with guests from all over keen for a good time! The Santeria rooftop with ocean views has cabanas for you to enjoy while sunbaking and sipping on cocktails from their rooftop bar. Or grab a good read from the reception to lose yourself in. However, if you’re not so keen on the sun, there’s a hidden speakeasy piano bar disguised as a ‘Janitor’s Closet’ in the hotel. When you get hungry head down to Eddies Grubhouse for a drink, boogie, live music, and finger-lickin’ burgers. For an intimate function space, The Sugar Cube is a private room styled as a 70s-inspired recording studio, ready to be hired out as an awesome space to host a meeting or bust out a bit of karaoke!

There’s really no reason to leave the building, with barista-brewed coffee at the reception from 8am till 8pm, so you can get your caffeine fix whenever you please. Downstairs, you’ll find The Pink Hotel Hair and Tattoo Parlour, so that you can get dolled up for your night ahead or even get a spontaneous sneaky tat up by one of the expert tattoo artists.

Although being an epic party pad, the laid-back vibe makes for a relaxing holiday too if that’s more your cup of tea! Escape to the beach only 50 meters away and be sure to go for a morning hike around the headland to catch the surfers going for their morning ride.

The Pink Hotel Coolangatta has quickly become one of the Gold Coast’s most iconic hotels and for good reason, it’s the perfect mix of party and paradise. All in all, if you’re heading down south – make sure you take a trip to The Pink Hotel for an unforgettable weekend away - you won't regret it!
