Hastings Street’s Beloved Hotel Is Set To Be Reimagined As A Luxury Wellness Resort

Paradise, Perfected

By Bianca Licina | 16th October 2025

If you needed another excuse to book a Noosa getaway (as if), here it is. This December, the iconic Sofitel Noosa will be reborn as Elysium Noosa Resort — a sleek new sanctuary of sunshine, style, and seriously elevated serenity, right on Hastings Street.

A luxe new chapter

Think: coastal luxury with a European twist. Designed by Melbourne’s Mitchell & Eades, every inch of the resort has been reimagined — all 175 rooms and suites — into a serene space that feels like the Noosa we know and love, only a little more polished and a little more international.

From breezy rattan accents to crisp linens and subtle nautical stripes, the interiors ooze effortless sophistication. But don’t be fooled — Elysium isn’t just a pretty face. This is a place made for living well.

Wellness, but make it designer

The Wellness Suites are a total game-changer for the wellness nuts, who believe that your health shouldn’t be compromised whilst on holiday. The suites are complete with private infrared saunas, terrace spas, and concierge-curated rituals that’ll have you feeling like Gwyneth on holiday. Reformer Pilates? Peloton? Yoga on your terrace? Done, done, and namaste.

For travellers who want more than just a good night’s sleep, this is wellness with a capital W — and a glass of bubbles after, naturally.

Let’s talk food

Of course, a resort this good wouldn’t be complete without equally fabulous food. Cue Cibaria, the first Queensland outpost from award-winning restaurateurs Alessandro and Anna Pavoni (of Ormeggio fame), bringing their signature Italian flair to Noosa’s dining scene.

And when the sun starts to set, Bar Capri will be the place to sip and see — think coastal cocktails, Mediterranean energy, and a front-row seat to Noosa’s golden hour.

Suites Worth Booking Just for the Balcony

For those who love a suite with bragging rights, the Elysium Suite takes centre stage, complete with its own plunge pool and ocean views that will have your camera roll working overtime. Meanwhile, Poolside Junior Suites come with private cabanas for ultimate relaxation, and Prestige Suites overlook the pool towards that iconic Main Beach view we never tire of.

Principal designer Hayley Mitchell sums it up perfectly: “We wanted to create a destination with global appeal — a new style of luxury where Noosa’s essence is reimagined through a European lens.” Let’s just say, it seems like it’s mission accomplished.

So, ready your linen sets, your favourite sun hats, and your summer best – Elysium Noosa Resort is on its way.
