Festive Perks Surrounding the G20

Festive Perks Surrounding the G20

A buzzing smorgasbord of foodie delights, cultural spectacles and free entertainment is running alongside the G20.

While a travel company or two may be using said leaders summit to encourage residents to jet off on holiday (tempting…), the Style team know of some fabulous ways to enjoy Brisbane’s day in the sun. Amid the array of rendezvousing delegates, motorcades, global media and the odd pesky road closure, the G20 Cultural Celebrations and coinciding events aim to showcase who we are as a city.

From October 24 until November 16, our corner of the world is featuring hundreds of free and more exclusive events; live music and interactive light installations, pop-up street performances, exquisite dining occasions, community BBQs (the ultimate Aussie staple), multicultural displays and more! We’ve put together a snapshot of the line up. Prepare your calendars.

POTTED POTTER

Hold onto your wands. We thought the announcement of J.K. Rowling’s upcoming films was the #bestnewsever but this little FYI is pretty awesome. Playing to sold-out houses all over the world, the comedy Potted Potter (soon to show at the Powerhouse!) condenses all seven Harry Potter books into 70 hilarious minutes. So great, we know! Appropriate for ages six to Dumbledore, we’ll be bringing the whole family. Crookshanks included.
