What’s in your bag? | Sevine from Madisons Beauty Clinic

From lipstick, to ultraceuticals and earrings, we learn a little bit more about Sevine Forster from Madisons Beauty Clinic.

As girls, we know a handbag is a personal, sacred and often mystical, black hole of a place. There’s something about Mary Poppins’ bag that just rings too true, when you feel like you’ve emptied your entire belongings before you find that one last bobby pin or lip-gloss.

They say what we keep close to our heart arm (or at least what we hang from it) can reveal a lot about ourselves. However, it’s often more the contents within our chosen bags that can reflect more of our daily rituals and ultimately ourselves.

So what might a beautician carry around? We asked Sevine Forster of Madisons Beauty Clinic to empty her bag and spill the beans…

1.    What item in your bag is most suited to your career?

As I am a busy lady, I would say the watch is most suited to my career.

I am the queen of multi-tasking, always bouncing about, either in the clinic supporting my team, in business meetings collaborating with other experts for our business development (we have some very exciting times ahead), or attending special events to share our message with others - Look good, feel good, skin confidence! Time management, consistency and reliability are extremely important to me.

2.    What can’t you leave the house without?

I cannot leave the house without water, absolutely not; I ALWAYS have water with me.

3.    Do you tend to coordinate your bag to your outfit?

I like an understated look therefore good skin, makeup and hair are more important to me than over doing the outfit itself - oh and a cute pair of studs are very important to completing an understated look :)

4.    What is your go-to bag type?

My go-to bag is a carryall tote from Trenery - a perfectly portioned carryall leather bag, both practical and feminine. For after-hours or heading out with the girls, I would opt for using either a sling bag or a clutch (usually from Witchery).

5.    What are some of your favourite brands in both beauty and fashion that you use daily?

Ultraceuticals and Babor (also found in my bag, of course), Witchery, Veronica Maine, French Connection, Country Road, Sheike, Oroton and Issey Miyake.

We take a closer look at three items in Sevine’s bag and ask her why she chooses to carry them around:

1.    Ultraceuticals AntiOX

I'm always on the go and like to maintain my skin hydration with a glowing complexion. This product is packed  with antioxidants that help protect my skin from environmental aggressors, which also assist in age prevention and skin hydration.

2.    Voss Water

As mentioned, I carry water with me everywhere. Once the feeling of dehydration starts, dehydration is already occurring. If the skin is dehydrated, collagen and elastin that would normally float in the skins extracellular matrix cannot lay down and it snaps like toothpicks. Dehydration is one of the fastest ways to premature ageing hence why I always carry water with me. Staying hydrated also helps me to keep a clear mindset and feel energised.

3.    Babor Lipstick

It's all about the lips for me. I usually carry up to 5 to 7 lip applicators from a clear lip hydration treatment to numerous lipsticks, liners and gloss... layer, layer and layer for lasting power!
