Torch The Place
At its best, live theatre has the ability to make you truly feel – and that’s exactly what Queensland Theatre Company’s latest production delivers. Torch The Place, a heartfelt comedy written by Queensland writer Benjamin Law, best known for The Family Law, follows Teresa – a single mother of three and a hoarder – on her 60th birthday as her adult children devise a plan to declutter. What ensues is a fever dream of secrets, difficult family dynamics, and chaos. A hilarious and moving commentary on family and the immigrant experience, it’s running until 29 March, and it’s one not to miss.
What: Queensland Theatre Company’s Torch The Place When: Until Sunday, 29 March Where: Bille Brown Theatre, 78 Montague Rd, South Brisbane
