A Rooftop Bar & 51-Storey Luxury Hotel Is Coming To The Victory Hotel

onwards and upwards

By Victoria Lewis | 23rd October 2026

It’s official: The Victory Hotel is getting a little taste of luxury.

The news has just dropped that Brisbane CBD’s iconic venue on the corner of Edward and Charlotte Streets will receive a major facelift, and by that, we mean a 51-storey high-rise including luxury accommodation, restaurants, and a public rooftop bar.

Led by Precision Group, the Victory Tower development has just received the green light from Brisbane City Council, meaning works are already underway.

You may be thinking, what does this mean for the heritage-listed Victory Hotel (aka the venue you may know from blurry nights on the town as “The Vic”)? Keep scrolling because we’ve got all the answers about the development.

What’s in store for the Victory Tower?

In short, this project is pretty major. Hoping to cater to increasing accommodation needs in the lead-up to the 2032 Olympics, the 16,000 sqm Victory Tower will deliver 284 rooms across a 924 sqm site and sit directly behind the beloved heritage-listed venue, the Victory Hotel.

And of course, knowing Brisbane’s affinity for rooftop amenities, the new tower will include a stunning rooftop bar complete with panoramic views of the city centre and Brisbane River, as well as a sky-high pool on the 40th floor (just for good measure).

Precision Group founder and CEO Shaun Bonétt says, “The Victory Hotel is one of Brisbane’s most recognised hospitality landmarks. Our vision is to honour that history while giving the site a new future, bringing together heritage, hotel accommodation, hospitality, wellness and rooftop experiences in a way that contributes to the city well beyond 2032.”

Does this mean the end for ‘The Vic’?

Though it won’t stay exactly the same, we are happy to report that no, The Victory Hotel isn’t going anywhere.

As part of the development, the hotel will be refurbished into four separate venues, including a sports bar and beer garden, a rooftop garden bar, a steakhouse restaurant, and a basement speakeasy-style bar with a gaming room.

Precision Group actually took possession of the Victory Hotel’s operations as part of its long-term ownership, and the team is already working with venue management to work out how to bring the Victory Hotel’s heritage charm into the next chapter.

In fact, heritage plays a significant part in the tower’s design, with heritage architect Ruth Woods partnering with architects Bureau Proberts and interior designers S.Shyne to create a facade that both honours the Victory Hotel’s historic significance and merges it with modern-day luxury.

Though the hotel refurbishment and historic restoration works are already underway, Victory Tower is scheduled for completion before 2032. Until then, we will be patiently watching and waiting for that sky-high cocktail.
