How Dr. Sarah Jane Is Changing the Way We Think About Healing
Feeling is healing
By Yana Van Der Byl | 26th February 2025Within minutes of sitting with Dr. Sarah Jane, I was left speechless. The only word that came to mind? Wild. Naturally open-minded yet somewhat skeptical, I never expected her to read me so deeply within three minutes of meeting. Without even touching on her full practice, she unearthed my past and revealed the forces at play in my life. All I had asked was, “Tell me little bit about what you do.” Her path into energy work was serendipitous. After studying psychology, she sought something more meaningful and found her passion in gentle chiropractic methods that focus on trauma release. Now an award-winning Chiropractor, Counsellor, and Energy Facilitator, Dr. Sarah Jane is the Founder of Spinal Energetics, a practice designed to release suppressed emotions that manifest as skin sensitivities and body aches — the body’s response to unprocessed experiences. After attending one of her Gold Coast events, I left feeling completely realigned, calm, and refreshed.
How would you describe your work using an analogy?
Spinal Energetics is like tuning a musical instrument. Your body is the instrument and life’s stressors (emotional etc) can cause it to fall out of harmony so to speak. Through light touch and energetic field work, we help you recalibrate your system by restoring its natural rhythm so that you can move through life with more ease and less tension.
What advice would you give someone trying Spinal Energetics services for the first time?
Come with an open mind and no expectations. Your body knows what it needs and Spinal Energetics works with this innate intelligence. Whether you feel a lot, a little or something entirely unexpected, trust that the process is unfolding exactly as it should.
What’s one myth about your practice you’d love to debunk?
That it is all about the physical movements. While some people experience spontaneous responses, the real transformation happens deep within the nervous system. It’s not about the external expression- some people remain completely still. It’s about how your body processes and integrates stored energy and emotions.
What daily ritual do you swear by?
Walking my dog, Cooper, on the beach and getting a chai. It’s my time to slow down, connect with nature, and start the day with a clear mind.
