Singles – ditch the remote and don your dancing shoes with our tops single spots for Valentine’s Day this year.
This year, the day singles dread most falls on a Friday night, so there’s a good chance anyone you meet out on their lonesome is single.
We’ve compiled our three picks for a V-Day night you can boast about to your loved up friends and co-workers.
The Brooklyn Beauty bar
Book yourself in for a pampering sesh with a group of your single gal pals. Settle in for the ultimate Brooklyn Experience in your own private room – complete with glass of Champagne, a mani, pedi and professional eyebrow sculpture – then head out on the town. A glass of Champers prior to a wax – genius! These gals also do skin treatments, tanning, makeup and more, so you could spend all day in here (housework can totally wait). Who needs blokes when you’ve got your besties anyway?
Beach Burrito Co
If you’re looking for a casual spot for a feed with some amigos, why not settle in with a frozen margarita, a bucket of beer and tasty Mexican at Beach Burrito Co in Fortitude Valley? This is one of the funkiest Mexican joints in town – dishing up some tasty, Mexican food and drink served with a hefty side of hipster-cool ambience. Even if you don’t find yourself catching the eye of the amigo tucking into the taquitos at the next table, you may find yourself sharing a special moment with a burrito. Arriba!
Limes Rooftop Bar
Love me Tinder, Love me do…If it’s a flirt and a new love mate you’re after, head to ‘Swipe Right’ Rooftop Tinder Party at Limes Rooftop Bar. Guests are encouraged to download the app on the night and join in the fun, matchmaking with other attendees. Simply download the app, set to a 2 kilometre range and make your way to the rooftop. Your soul mate might be sipping cocktails by the bar, taking a dip in the plunge pool, or tearing up the dancefloor thanks to the beats of DJs Autopilot, 95 Royale, Chanel vs Blair and Greaves. The party kicks off from 7pm until late.
Chester Street Bakery and Bar
If you DO plan on staying in and cuddling up in front of the tv with the remote (and Misty your nearly deaf Persian short-haired cat) then at least pick up some goodies to stuff your face with while you do it. Chester Street Bakery and Bar are known for their comfort food and delectable sweet treats, so head on in via the video store – if your local one hasn’t closed down yet – and grab some freshly baked goodies including shortbread hearts, meringues and chocolate brownie hearts. For the brave, mix all ingredients with ice cream and enjoy (yes, I just went there – you know you want to too.)
