And for those who take guilty pleasure in watching reality shows of brides and their entourages organise their big day and find their perfect dress, you’re also in luck!
Say Yes to the Dress, which will mimic the LifeStyle Channel’s show of the same name, will likely be full of over-the-top drama, bridal stories, fashion emergencies, retail therapy and probably regular therapy too.
The Australian version will be hosted by Sydney couture wedding designer Adam Dixon, but the bridal store location has yet to be announced. However, if the overseas show is anything to go by, it’s going to be super luxe and iconic to say the least.
The show is the longest running series for the LifeStyle Channel and is described as “part fashion, part bridal story, part family therapy; the series will uncover the lengths these bridal consultants will go to in order to make each bride completely satisfied.”
The local version of the show, which will be shot in Sydney, will focus on a new set of brides each episode. A team of bridal specialists will assist them in finding the wedding dress of their dreams, no matter how unique or strange their requests.
So if you’re an Aussie lady currently planning a wedding but are still dress-less, your application awaits!
But before you rush to fill out that application, you might want to consider these five things:
1. You’ll need to provide a photo of yourself. Because TV.
2.Your wedding date should be set for between now and 2019.
3.Limit your posse to three people.
4. You’ll need to be OK with the producers conducting a background check on you and your partner.
5. Most importantly, you’ll need to agree to foot the bill of the dress.
Meanwhile, we’ll be watching Say Yes to the Dress from the cosiness of our couches, thank you very much! Laughter, tears, high drama, diva behaviour and dresses with extreme price tags – we wouldn’t miss it.
