The pop-up picnic revolution Dîner en Blanc is making a beeline for Brisbane once again. Filled to the brim with sophisticated socialites dressed head to toe in crisp white – it’s pretty much the most Hampton-esque thing to hit the river city since, like, ever. Keep November 4th free folks, we hear white is the new black.

Dîner en Blanc is no stranger to Brisbane. Previous years have seen this springtime soiree take over Queens Park, Roma Street Parklands, Hamilton, South Bank and the City Botanical Gardens. Where’s this year’s location you ask? That will remain a tight-lipped secret right up until the day of the event.

I Gots to know

Essentially, Dîner en Blanc is all the glitz, glamour and exclusivity we wish Melbourne Cup was (sans the horses, the sun-stroke, the six-too-many-beers blokes and losing all your money when you bet on a filly with a really cool name instead of one with good odds). It’s a chance to dress up and drink champagne with friendly strangers. A chance to indulge in fine finger food and Instagram your way through the sunset.

The exclusivity of the event is one of its biggest calling cards. Your best chance of getting is being invited as a guest or a “sponsor” of someone who’s been before. If your little black book isn’t quite as full of Brisbane socialites as you’d like it to be, you can always join the waiting list.

Each Dîner en Blanc is more popular and exuberant than the last, with the 2016 waiting list having over 14,000 people on it. Don’t give up on nabbing tickets just yet though, event organizer Kim Mayberry is opening more waiting list allocations than ever before.

“Each year the event sells out faster than the last, so to cater for popular demands, we’ve increased this events capacity to ensure that more guests can attend,” Ms Mayberry said.

Once you’ve got your ticket, you’re automatically granted membership which guarantees you first round tickets to all future events.

Register now, pull out your best white frock and get ready to schmooze it up with the finest in Brisbane. After all, white is everyone’s colour.
