Tighten Up At This Emporium Of Pilates Right Here In Brisbane

Work it in all the right ways

By Dinushka Gunasekara | 14th January 2020

When a Pilates class has everyone wanting to arrive 15 minutes early and stay 15 minutes late, you know you’re onto a good thing, and that’s exactly what happens at Pilates Emporium. For 18 months, this boutique studio in Wilston has been toning, tightening and testing its loyal clients through a challenging and intense fitness regime that works the muscles all the way from their necks to their ankles.

Feel strong, feel long and have all the strength to do your day-to-day activities gracefully and safely, with the help of Pilates Emporium’s reformer Pilates. Somewhere between a resistance workout, a weights workout and cardio, director and owner of Pilates Emporium Wilston, Cheré Cannon, says this form of Pilates will have you continually growing, continually being challenged and getting stronger as you go. “We all need rehabilitation in one way or another, whether that’s for posture or an injury, and because of all the movements we’re doing to realign the body, Pilates is so good for this,” says Cheré.

Guided by the screens visible from every position in the studio, instructors with years of experience are at every class to help with your technique or to work around injuries. “Sometimes it’s just a tiny little tweak from an instructor and you go, ‘Oh, now that’s burning where it should be’,” says Cheré. It also means there’s no lagging in between while you wait for the instructor to set up an exercise because you can look at the screens and get straight back to work.

From first timers to Pilates pros, the exercises are easily varied to suit anyone. “Our youngest is 14, our oldest is 86 and we have all ages and sexes in between,” says Cheré. Offering créche classes, mums and bubs classes and with 30% men in the studio, many other studios only accept women who are pregnant for up to 14 weeks, however all six instructors at Pilates Emporium are specially trained for pregnancy to take them all the way up to birth and post partum. Open every day and with the option to workout casually or with a membership that works for you, Pilates Emporium is here to give you strength.

Ps. Receive a free class on top of Pilates Emporium Wilston’s
