By Kiri Johnston | 15th February 2019

Styler Kix sat down in the hair salon chair whilst Shannon worked his magic and asked him all about his fabulous life, both work and personal. The stylish hair and makeup artist has over 12 years of industry experience, he's been to NYFW, had plenty of celeb encounters and dreams of painting Queen Bey’s face one day.

WORK LIFE

What’s your occupation?
Editorial hair and makeup artist/stylist.

How long have you been doing hair and makeup?
I've been in the industry for 12 years.

Who is the most famous person you’ve worked your magic on?
Margot Robbie and Daniii Minogue.

Who do you look up to most in the hair/beauty industry?
Jen Atkin @jenatkinhair

What is one of your most random/exciting moments/experiences?
Heading to Rihanna's debut collection of Savage Beauty last year in the front row and working at NYFW.

Who/what do you draw inspiration from?
My own thoughts.

Best hair tip/secret?
If you’re going to the beach or in the pool your hair acts as a sponge, so before you jump into the water, wet your hair and put conditioner in it to act as a film. Otherwise, your hair will absorb the salt or chlorine and this can damage your hair.

Best makeup tip/secret?
Mix your fave lippy with the Mecca Cosmetica Lip De-Luscious Treatment for a more youthful, summery lip.

Three of your MVP beauty/hair products:
Olaplex treatment, Doo.over by Kevin Murphy, Ella Baché Creme Royale

You’ve done it all and even been to NYFW, what’s the next goal/dream for you?
My dream would to one day be able to do Beyoncé’s makeup!
