Kayla Itsines is an abs-olute inspiration

From bikini bodies to total health and happiness, Kayla Itsines is reshaping women’s lives.

Worldwide success from her 12 Week Bikini Body Guide hasn’t changed Kayla Itsines. When asked what two things she couldn’t live without, she doesn’t hesitate: “My partner Tobi and my dogs TJ and Ace.”

Born in Adelaide, Kayla is an average 24-year-old woman. She loves hanging with her family and taking baths on her days off. She’s not immune to lack of motivation or sweet cravings (tiramisu is her weak spot). This is probably why #KaylasArmy (yes, she has her own army, a kick-ass online community 4.8 million strong) and the world in general find her so relatable.

“I don’t think I've changed as a person; I've always been open and honest. My morals and being true to what I believe in will never change,” she says. As modest as she is down-to-earth, Kayla didn’t get to where she is today without hard work, determination and dedication. Last year, she travelled the world for her first World Bootcamp Tour, during which she trained nearly 20,000 women across five capital cities.

Kayla’s passion is clear; her love for what she does and for her BBG community shines through in every conversation. She even admits to waking up at 5am every morning, eager to see what her BBG girls have been up to overnight!

“The BBG community is like my extended family. They motivate and inspire me and everyone around them daily,” she says.

Kayla has created more than just a health and fitness outlet for women: she has established an online community where women are inspired to empower, encourage and support one another. In an image-driven world, such a movement is hard to come by. “I honestly feel so blessed to be in a position where I am able to help inspire and motivate so many women around the world,” Kayla says.

If she’s not in the office, travelling for work, training clients, creating content, in meetings or interviews Kayla is found exercising (shocking, we know). “To me, exercising is my time to switch off and focus on myself. It relaxes me and really is my ‘me’ time!” She says.

Looking to her own community for constant inspiration Kayla doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon. So where will we see Kayla five years from now? “I would like to continue to work with women and help them feel healthier and happier. I would like to continue to provide women worldwide with educational content, tools and advice to assist them along their health and fitness journey,” she says.

When asked about the conspicuous ring on her wedding finger, Kayla laughs. “Tobi and I aren’t actually engaged. The ring I wear on my wedding finger is a promise ring. Tobi is my business partner, my best friend and boyfriend. I honestly just love him so much.”

Well, a girl can dream, Kayla!
