I Tried A Juice Cleanse For The First Time: Here’s The Honest Review

SUMMER CLEANSE

By Kiri Johnston | 15th December 2025

December always arrives with momentum. Travel, social plans, late nights, long lunches — and a calendar that fills up faster than expected. I’d been on the move, soaking it all up, indulging in local cuisine, walking everywhere but snacking constantly between busy days. Plenty of steps, very little structure.

I loved every minute of it. That’s what this time of year is for. But by the time I was home, I could feel my body was a little out of rhythm. Not unwell, just sluggish and puffy, craving something lighter and more grounding as the festive season approached.

So rather than diving straight into December at full speed, I decided to ease into it with something gentle. A reset that felt supportive rather than restrictive. That’s when I tried Sol Cleanse’s Level 1: Reset & Nourish (3 Day), my first ever juice cleanse.

I’ve always been cautious around cleanses. Some feel extreme or unrealistic, especially when real life doesn’t stop. What appealed to me about Sol Cleanse was their focus on nourishment rather than deprivation, and the fact that Level 1 is designed specifically for beginners or anyone coming off a busy period of travel, stress or indulgence.

From the moment the delivery arrived, the experience felt calming. Everything was clearly labelled, thoughtfully packed and easy to follow. After weeks of eating on the go and making constant decisions, opening the fridge to a simple, structured plan felt like a relief in itself.

The Level 1 Reset & Nourish isn’t just juice. Each day includes a balance of cold-pressed juices, smoothies, nut milks and an Ayurvedic-style dahl, spaced thoughtfully throughout the day. That variety made all the difference. After rich meals and festive eating, my body wanted lightness — but it also wanted warmth and grounding. The dahl at the end of the day became something I genuinely looked forward to, and it made the entire experience feel sustainable rather than something to push through.

Day one felt like a deep exhale. Day two was when I really noticed the shift. The bloating from travel and indulgent food began to ease, my energy felt steadier, and that low-level heaviness lifted. I wasn’t reaching for snacks out of habit, and I wasn’t missing my usual routine as much as I expected. Everything felt quieter, calmer and more balanced.

What surprised me most was how understated the reset felt. There were no crashes, no dramatic moments, no sense of restriction — just the feeling that my system had been given a chance to catch up after weeks of movement, indulgence and very little structure.

While I followed the cleanse, my partner took a different approach with Sol Cleanse’s Organic Whole Food Meal Pack with meat. His experience was just as positive, but in a more practical way. The meals were filling, flavourful and satisfying — an easy option for anyone wanting to eat well leading into the festive season without committing to a full cleanse.

Quality is clearly at the heart of Sol Cleanse. Their juices are cold-pressed, unpasteurised, made with organic produce and served in glass — something you can taste immediately. Everything feels fresh, vibrant and thoughtfully considered, from the ingredients through to the sustainability practices built into the brand.

This experience wasn’t about undoing travel or indulgence. I loved every meal, every walk, every spontaneous snack along the way. Sol Cleanse simply helped me reset gently and step into December feeling lighter, clearer and more in tune with my body.

If you’re heading into the festive season feeling slightly out of rhythm after travel or a busy end to the year, this is a considered way to ease in. Not to restrict or overhaul everything — but to support your body before the celebrations really begin.

Sometimes the most effective reset isn’t about doing more. It’s about pausing briefly, listening in, and then moving forward with intention.
