Jasmine Finlay: The Golfer Girl With Some Serious Drive

Jasmine Finlay: The Golfer Girl With Some Serious Drive

Pun most definitely intended!

Now we’ll be the first to admit, when we thought of golfers in the past, we imagined retired old men in ridiculous plaid and a cold beer in hand. Well after spending an hour or two with Jasmine Finlay, it’s safe to say she’s reinventing what golf is to us! The 27-year-old is reimaging what it means to be a female golfer, taking on a traditionally male dominated sport. Boss-lady meets athlete. Sportswoman plus entrepreneur, not only has she earned her name as one of the country’s prominent golf figures, but is also running her incredibly successful Golfer Girl business.

After years of competing around the nation as well as playing across the globe, Jasmine has forged her path as a professional sports woman becoming one of the top 20 golfers in Australia. She has won the Brisbane Amateur and Brisbane District competitions as well claiming the prestigious Jack Newton State Age tournament. Jasmine was also the Australian ambassador for Cobra Puma Golf for 5 years.

Back in 2013, she decided to combine her love for the game and her business attributes and founded her company Golfer Girl. Working as a national network of female golfers, Golfer Girl aims to promote, unify and empower women in the sport. Featuring some of the country’s most talented female golfers, both professional and amateur, Golfer Girl offers services such as corporate golf days, charity golf days, 18 hole events and golf tours around the world.

In her own words, Jasmine says “Golfer girl is a great way for women golfers to earn good money doing what they love, gain exposure in the golfing community as well as sponsorship and networking possibilities.” Today, female empowerment has never been more at the forefront of our minds. Inspiring and supporting other women is a passion of Jasmine’s and also a critical part of her business. “Golfer Girl empowers women golfers in quite a male dominant sport. I love knowing my business is contributing to this change.” When we spoke to Jasmine about her business she noted, “We are more than just a pretty face. We are talented and unique. We offer something different. There is no other brand like Golfer Girl in Australia.” When it comes to women in business and women in sport, you can add Jasmine to your list of boss babes to look out for!

Working alongside amazing charities is also a key component of Golfer Girl as well. “Charity work is important and also really rewarding! Knowing you’re making a difference, big or small, to an individual’s life or a foundation’s growth is so exciting.”

Jasmine has recently taken a big step in her charity work by organising her own event in partnership with the Pancare Foundation.

In honour of her beautiful mother who sadly passed away last year of pancreatic cancer, Jasmine is hosting the Christine Finlay Memorial Golf Day on the 28th of September at Brookwater Golf & Country Club. As a woman who also did a lot of charity work during her lifestyle, the day will be used to not only celebrate Christine, but also provide some much-needed support to a significant cause.
The day will feature a 4 ball Ambrose style event with outstanding prizes for players to win. Whether it some luxe accommodation, activities vouchers, or designer Puma golfing apparel, this is one prize pool you don’t want to miss.

There will also be food and drinks provided including a sausage sizzle on arrival and a BBQ buffet at the prize presentations. Jasmine has also been running an incredible auction through her social channels, featuring some priceless sports memorabilia available for bidding.
