Your ultimate guide to Brisbane's sporting season

Milton is the hub of some of the biggest sport matches this winter, and we’ve got the key players to keep everybody happy.

When the buzzer rings and the crowd erupts in noise, don't you want to be a part of it, instead of watching through your television screen?

Milton's Suncorp Stadium is home to some of the biggest sporting events in football (soccer), NRL and rugby union and this winter sporting season, these games will bring some of the biggest crowds to the Milton sporting complex:

5 June – Brisbane Broncos vs. Manly Sea Eagles
6 June – Queensland Reds vs. Chiefs
26 June – Brisbane Broncos vs. Newcastle Knights

8 July – State of Origin (Match 3: the decider)
17 July – Brisbane Roar vs. Liverpool
18 July – Wallabies vs. Springboks
19 July – Brisbane Broncos vs. Wests Tigers
24 July – Brisbane Broncos vs. Gold Coast Titans

(Date TBC) 1 to 10 July – Brisbane Broncos vs. Canterbury Bulldogs
(Date TBC) 14 to 17 July – Brisbane Broncos vs. St George-Illawarra Dragons

While we revel in the game’s atmosphere, wave our flags and shout at the players to go faster, tackle or score, we have to admit the best seat of the night isn’t always the plastic seats in the stadium. Instead, the best seat of the night is experienced after or before the game, when you have a chance to share friendly banter with your friends or rivals over beer or relax, unwind and reflect from the game that was with some celebratory wine or a meal.

Central Cosmo Apartments in Milton offer the perfect accommodation close to the sporting season action, within walking distance to the stadium and on Park Road, with plenty of restaurants and bars dotted in between them and the stadium.

Here are just some of the great post-match venues that have been recommended by Central Cosmos Apartments:

Pre-Game: Blue Duck

This local bar and bistro on Park Road hosts pre-game food and drink specials with DJs from 4pm. It provides a range of starters, share plates and mains to have over a beer pre-game and quick take away options to eat on the way to the stadium.

Post-Game: La Dolce Vita

Open till midnight seven days, you’ll always find a pizza or pasta ready to fill you up after a match. They also have a large selection of wine, spirits, beers and cocktails, perfect for celebratory cheers.

Post-Match Recovery: Mary Ryan’s

Celebrate too hard after the match? Head to Mary Ryan’s Books on Park Road, the cosy café that will perk you up with their tasty Merlo coffee and selection of tasty treats, breakfast and lunch options.

The Central Cosmo Apartments offer stylish and affordable accommodation close to the action, offering a mix of studio apartments and one and two bedroom self-contained apartments in the heart of the trendy Park Road precinct. The apartments overlook the Brisbane River, are surrounded by a range of restaurants, cafes and bars and are less than a 20 minute walk from the stadium. Score!
