The sun is shining and the tank is clean!

Yeah, you read it but let me say it again: Howard Smith Wharves is reopening!

Finally, after months of COVID not-so-cool lockdown, one of Brisbane’s finest frolicking destinations will reopen. As of Thursday June 18, Felons Brewing Co. and Mr Percival’s will open their doors in accordance with current government regulations.

Stanley will follow in due course with a date yet to be announced, while Weekends on the Lawn will kick off again from this Saturday June 20 to dish up alfresco food and drinks on the East Lawn overlooking the Story Bridge and cityscape. Greca, Betty’s Burgers, and Goodtimes Gelateria have also reopened, some with limited opening hours.

Although the Wharves is reopening, things will be a little different from pre-COVID days with only 20 people seated per section, table-service only (winning) and guest details required to comply with regulations (and it’s very important we follow the rules)! I mean, it’s cool to be COVID-cool, right?

If this is setting the tone of what’s to come, then, Brisbane, we could certainly be on the path back to sunnier times.
