Thank goodness the rain has cleared and the sun is out again. I know it’s winter, but a Brisbane winter is far less traditional, even though we still complain about it being chilly when it drops below 21 degrees.
So before I quickly escape my desk this Friday, slightly earlier, to make the most of this sunny weekend ahead, here are 4 things you might not have known:
1. Eco-workout gear from the UK
A UK label has just set up shop within some of Brisbane’s boutiques, including two on James St and Latrobe Tce. Carrot Banana Peach, UK is a nature powered, eco-sustainable yoga & athleisure wear clothing label. The products are created from bamboo, banana, poplin, milkdal, soybean and aloe vera. Keep your eye out for this comfortable brand.
2. Perch Project - Wha?
If you’re like me and when asked, “where should we go tonight?” you start panicking and the pressure makes you pick somewhere familiar, but not necessary exciting, then this new app will make more than just me happy. Perch Project is a Brisbane-created app that aims to give us indecisive Brisbane-ites some social inspiration, while clueing us in to what the venues are offering then and there, including exclusive special offers. In the first week of releases this FREE APP (download here) has had more than 600 downloads… have you got it yet?
3. 2-4-1 at new Fortitude Valley venue
A new street food venue is opening next Thursday and if you’re keen on chicken in all its forms and value a cheap feed with mates, head to Lucky Egg from 5pm for 2-4-1 wings and burgers. It’s located within a shipping container outside Brightside.
4. Luxe for less
Not all of us can afford luxe designer bags and a fake will just never do, like ever! However, there is a new online retailer that is helping bridge the gap to affording that Chanel or Louis Vuitton bag. Lux.It.Fwd is all about on-selling pre-owned 100% authentic designer handbags at a fraction of the cost. It’s worth saving a few $$, maybe even get two? Hehe.
