It might be that winter is only a week away, but it seems my sources have bunkered down for the beginning of the season or my ears have gone a little cold on the trail…
I’m hoping by next week (with a few more layers of clothing and coffees) things will be up-and-running again.
Here goes week 5:
What you may know and what you may not know…
1. Shoes; a girl’s true best friend!
See the stunning pink heel below worn at the Opera House runway for Fashion Week? These were a Shoes of Prey x Carla Zampatti collaboration ro celebrate 50 years. While 50 years is exciting, what’s more exciting is that the heel is now available for anyone to customise and purchase on the Shoes of Prey website! EEEK.
2. Art, Everywhere.
An exhibition is currently being held at local venues in West End until June 9, unbeknown to most of the public. You can view the artwork in fruit shops, bookstores, a barber, a record store, a bakery, and lots of other unlikely venues along Boundary and Vulture Streets, then bid for the work online. All profits raised by TRACE will be going towards Community Plus’s vital services, which help support their work with marginalised and vulnerable community members.
3. mX, no longer?
Rumor has it that free press News Corp commuter newspaper mX will run it’s last edition in Brisbane in two weeks time.
4. Red Hill Farmer’s Market
This weekend is the lunch of Brisbane’s newest farmer’s market at Red Hill. I will definitely be checking this one out, as it will be my new local!
5. Opa! Again!
I know I had a fabulous time at the Paniyiri Greek Festival last weekend, the crowds might have been a little big, but the food definitely made up for it. That’s why I’m excited to hear that Zeus will be opening in South Bank mid-June. Read more here.
6. New Winter menus
Bavarian Bier Cafe and Sake Restaurant & Bar have both just launched new winter menus, with Byblos planning on launching their new winter menu this Saturday. I love winter food; it’s like a big hug!
“Sometimes I snort because I’m just too lazy to breathe in.”
Feel free to send me any gossip you may have – I’ll read it all!
