Brisbane Musician Hanni On Living Loud, The Veronicas, And Her Next Chapter

Brisbane’s own alt-pop singer-songwriter Hanni is no stranger to pouring her heart into her music, and now she’s bringing that same passion to the stage for a cause that matters deeply. On October 3, she’ll join an iconic lineup — headlined by the Veronicas and hosted by Myf Warhurst — for Youngcare’s Living Loud at The Triffid, celebrating 20 years of impact supporting young people with complex physical disabilities.

For Hanni, the opportunity is more than just another gig. “It honestly means so much. Being able to play music while also supporting such an incredible cause feels really special,” she says. “Youngcare does such important work, and the fact that this night is not just about music but about raising awareness and celebrating 20 years of impact makes it even more powerful. I’m honoured to be part of it.”

Sharing the bill with the Veronicas feels like a dream come true. “I cannot put into words how proud and mind-blown my younger self would be!” she says. “I grew up listening to them, so to be on the same lineup is a total ‘pinch-me’ moment.”

Her breakout single Golden Eyes has already clocked over six million streams, but Hanni says the journey hasn’t always been smooth. “It’s been a wild ride. There have been plenty of highs and lows, but I think that’s part of the fun. Brisbane has such a cool little music community, and it’s definitely shaped me. I’ve learned to be resilient, back myself, and just keep creating no matter what. At the end of the day, the fact that people actually connect with my songs still blows my mind — that’s what keeps me going.”

The Brisbane scene has also provided a strong foundation for her growth. “I love how close-knit it feels — everyone kind of knows each other, and there’s a real sense of community. It’s made me feel supported while I figure out my own sound, and it’s given me the space to just be myself as an artist.”

That sound, deeply personal and raw, comes straight from her own experiences. “My life inspires my songs. I like to think that when you’re listening to my music, you’ve just opened up my diary or had a private viewing of my brain thoughts. Most of my songs are about relationships I’ve been in, and the rollercoaster you go on with the people you love the most—for better or worse.”

Looking ahead, fans can expect even more honesty and energy from Hanni’s next chapter. “It feels like a real evolution — definitely more bandy vibes coming through — and I’m so excited for people to hear it. I also want to play way more shows. Building my live sets with a band has been so fun, and I can’t wait to keep growing into that side of things even more.”

With her diary-like lyrics, powerhouse vocals, and a growing momentum, Hanni is an artist to watch—and one you’ll want to catch live when she steps onto the Living Loud stage this October.
