While you’re in the area, don’t miss these Camp Hill locals, too!

Camp Hill Antique Centre & TART Cafe

In 2017, former assistant director in film and TV, Sarah Jane Walsh, and her seven-time ARIA nominated partner, Paul Butler, restored an iconic 1950s cinema in urban Brisbane, saving the historical site from the bulldozers and turning it into a retro and vintage homewares antique store. Family run, the Camp Hill Antique Centre & TART Cafe pride themselves on being a vibrant cluster of collectors. “Many of the wares in our shop were stopped and rescued on their way to the dump. Whatever it was, it was restored, repainted, re-chromed, re-upholstered, re-sold and is now recycled and re-loved!” Sarah says.

Not only do they offer a unique shopping experience with one-off pieces you won’t find anywhere else, they’re also conscious of their carbon footprint. “We have got on the front foot with our carbon emissions and installed 230 solar panels on our rooftop. Our 1000 square metre site is now half filled with panels and is offsetting up to 80% of our considerable electricity needs,” Sarah says.

The vintage mid-century mecca is open seven days for you to purchase for the perfect piece, or just to simply have a good old browse. Stop and have a coffee, milkshake or bite to eat from their locally sourced, organic and fair-trade menu at their in-house TART Cafe soon.

Fluid The Colour Salon

That eye-catching colour you saw walking around town? Chances are it was born here at Fluid, where stellar technicians work harmoniously to grow, upskill and focus all on you. Inspired by the principles of flow, nothing is too bold in their gifted hands.

Owner and Salon Director, Patrisha ‘Trish’ Spessa, has spent 14 years perfecting a space where each day is brightened, and the vibe is truly wholesome. “We have a vast array of individual guests, and we cater to their own personal hair needs,” she says. “From any application technique with fantasy colour, blondes, brunettes, and cool or warmer tones, through to guests who want a complete change.”

All kinds of colour are embraced in the newly renovated salon, now fitted with relaxing electronic massage basin chairs and aesthetically pleasing feature walls that add the right touch of sassy and class. “Through the renovation, I really wanted to inspire our guests and the team to look forward, rather than backward,” Trish says. “I wanted to show everyone how invested I am in Fluid and our future.”

While the team elevates your look, the ultimate level of comfort will uplift your mood. It’s the love for hair and the passion for your confidence that really makes Fluid stand out. “My favourite part is definitely seeing our guests smile as we take off their gown for the grand reveal!”

Ralph & Co. Camp Hill

From breakfast to brunch, lunch or even tapas and wine, Ralph & Co. Camp Hill is your next go-to when it comes to a relaxed botanical marketplace vibe! Come for a coffee or stay for a delicious meal made by the passionate locals who are the heart and soul of the Camp Hill community. Find live music on Sundays from 2-5pm with tapas, wine, beer and cocktails, and sit back to enjoy great tunes with a drink in hand amongst glorious air conditioning – it’s the perfect place to visit this summer!

Plus, Ralph & Co. Camp Hill offer a specialty grocer to support local producers, provide carefully curated catering, and they also offer function spaces for birthdays, baby showers and even long lunches! Whether it’s a sit-down get together or stand-up-with-canapes affair, the team are excited to welcome you to the warming space or help you plan your next event. Open seven days and late Thursday to Sunday.
