Your Guide To Hosting The Ultimate Galentine’s Dinner Party
Girls just want to have fun!By Sarah Kennedy | 9th February 2024
Gather the girls and pop the champagne because it’s almost Galentine’s Day! A day dedicated to drinking good wine, eating good food, and having good conversations with your ride-or-dies. If you’re anything like us, then you might not know that its unofficial-official date is February 13th. But don’t let that limit you to just one day! Whether you’re celebrating the weekend before or on the 13th, get ready to put on your rose-coloured glasses because we’ve curated everything you need to throw the ultimate G-Day dinner party.
Choose a theme
You’ve set the date and sent out the RSVPs, now it’s time to choose a theme! Red and pink are our non-negotiables, but everything else is free reign as far as we’re concerned. Think an intimate moody candlelit dinner, a bright floral tablescape, or even a DIY theme. Go where your heart desires!
Set the table
Now that you’ve decided on a theme, it’s time to master the tablescape. The key? Layering! Start with a base and build from there, layering placemats and tableware. Consider different shapes, sizes, heights, and textures to create a balanced table. Bring it all together by adding a touch of romance with candlesticks or a vase of fresh blooms, because romance doesn’t just have to be shared with your S/O!
Pick a signature cocktail
Shake and stir your way to serving a signature cocktail that’s equal parts delicious and aesthetically pleasing! Any seasoned host knows that a cocktail on arrival sets the tone for the night. That’s why this Galentine’s we’re serving cosmos! Vetted by NYC’s leisure lady, Carrie Bradshaw, a cosmo is sure to get the party started. Serve in your favourite cocktail glasses and add a sprinkle of dried rose petals to fall in love with this pink-hued concoction. For those who want the fun without the alcohol, feel free to opt for a booze-free mocktail. We’ll toast to that!
