The stunning products from Everyday Co. are becoming staples in many photographer’s kits, but they’re more than just a tool to add colour to your latest snaps. They add character, texture, and a lasting impression to ensure your latest blog post racks up the reads. The mastermind behind the creative backdrops, Jade Behrens, makes sure her Brisbane-born business caters to anyone and everyone, including marketing strategists with a new product to highlight, café managers with the latest dishes to display, and even the increasing demographic of mums-and-bubs blogs. Our Style photographer uses them, too!

As one of Australia’s latest and greatest in the photography business, we sat down for a chat to learn more about what’s in store for Jade and Everyday Co.

How  and why did you start Everyday Co?
I’m a firm believer in rolling with what feels right, and starting a business that not only excites me but also allows me to experiment, felt more than right. My goal has always been to work creatively and for myself, so I worked on this idea more and more until it became something real.

How do you describe what you do?
I create vinyl photography backdrops suited to flat-lay photography, blogging, and product shoots. I like to think I’m giving the everyday person the chance to vamp up their content by getting creative with my backdrops, and I love that I’m contributing to what other people are doing too!

Who are your products ideally designed for?
One of my favourite things about the brand, is its products are compatible with so many different people! It doesn’t matter if its small business owners, bloggers, cafés, or even larger corporations specialising in marketing, social media advertising, or content creation, there’s something in our range for everyone! I’ve even started seeing a few babies being photographed on our backdrops too.

When did you start Everyday Co.?
I launched Everyday Co. in January, so she’s still a baby! I’m constantly thinking about new ideas and concepts, so when something sticks with me, I feel an urge to pursue it, which is exactly what I’ve done!

So, what’s been a career highlight so far?
I didn’t put any pressure on myself as to what the outcomes of Everyday Co. would be, so the level of interest and number of amazing people and big businesses using our products is a major career highlight. Sometimes, I’ll just be scrolling through Instagram and find that a brand I really like has used one of my backdrops in their ad, which always brings a smile to my face. Recently, we also had one of Australia’s major shopping centre franchises buy some of our range for their stores across Australia, which is also pretty exciting!

What’s next for Everyday Co.?
At the moment, I’m working on a new release of backdrop designs and expanding our product range to reach even more clients. We have some pretty big collaborations in the works that I can’t wait to share with everyone, and we’re also working on a sister brand!
