Digital editor's picks | Work it, baby

Pencils, pens, storage... we have your inspiration sorted when it comes to stylish desk accessories for the office.

By Elizabeth Best | 27th August 2015

It's my first week on the job at Style and this week I am ALL about the desk accessories. There's no better way to feel right at home when you're somewhere strange than taking a space, and making it your own. Oh, and having the lovely folks at the Style Magazines office giving you a warm welcome also helps! So this week's Editor's Picks are all about work inspiration: the outfit, the workspace, that statement handbag... it all says "I'm here, baby, and I'm ready to rock it!"

1. Printable calendar FREE Kerrie Hess

Keep track of all your important dates with this stunning free printable calendar from Kerrie Hess. Decadent watercolour pictures head up each month and since it doesn’t cost a penny, all you need to do is sign up to receive and BYO clipboard. Did I mention it was free?

2. Suck UK sharpener pencil holder Peters of Kensington

Stylish oversized office accessories masquerading as other stylish accessories are ALWAYS fun.

3. Small succulent crackle pot $18.50 Growing Gifts

Bring a dreary office space alive with a bit of green! Don’t worry, if you’re not so great at plant maintenance, succulents can pretty much survive anything.

4. Ioco Owl bookends $89.95 Hard To Find

Keep the important books upright and stylish with these statement silver owls. Whooo in their right mind wouldn’t love this cute pair? (Sorry, I'm obsessed with bad puns. I can't help it. It's a sickness.)

5. Annie Neusteter gold ampersand notebook $20.95 Zazzle

Never has one character said so much. With its typographical beauty and editorial connotations, my desk isn’t complete without a sneaky ampersand somewhere. Or everywhere. Seriously, I have ampersand earings, rings, notebooks, phone case... I might be addicted.

6. Kate Spade NY pencil set $37 Papier D'amour

Not the boring HB pencils you remember from primary school!

7. Christina Re Signature ebony mug $13 Peters of Kensington

I love the smell of coffee in the morning (that's a lie - I'm strictly a hot chocolate gal) and it always smells better when it's coming from your own chic mug rather than the dregs of the office communal cupboard. Communal coffee mugs... shudder.

8. Rectangle suitcase storage set $24.99 Typo

Who wants ordinary in trays when you can add an extraordinary colour pop to your desk with these storage cases? Vintage feel, modern colours, so much organisation.

9. Turnlock bag $499 Mimco

Be the envy of all your co-workers in the new office with this leather Turnlock back. It’s got all the pockets and hidey holes you need to stash your statement lippie, car keys, iPad, diary, you name it.

10. Cue embroidered lace shift dress $279 Cue

The swinging '60s and '70s are back and the humble shift is a perfect statement piece that can be transitioned from day to night with ease. March into the office like Mad Men's Peggy Olsen and command respect in mighty monochrome!
