Digital Editors Picks: Handbag must-haves

Digital Editors Picks: Handbag must-haves

Because a girl on the go needs a handbag full of necessities to get her through the day.

A good bag is a girl’s best friend, but equally as important is what’s IN the bag. This week for your Digital Editor’s picks I’m looking at my fave handbag must-haves.

Let’s be honest, bags are meant to just have wallet, keys and a few other essentials but when it comes to mine, it’s full to the brim of my “just in case” items. So here they are, my handbag must-haves!

1 Batiste dry shampoo 200mL, Discount Drug Store, $12.49

I cannot even tell you how much having this on hand has saved my life. Pretty sure my hair is 90 per cent dry shampoo now.

2 Revlon colour burst matte balm, Discount Drug Store, $17.99

These matte lips last and last. One pop of colour can keep you going most of the day. But if, like me, you like to eat, it’s great to pop one of these in the bag for when you smudge while you’re scoffing down a burger.

3 Nude By Nature pressed mineral cover, Discount Drug Store, $34.49

For those times you need a quick midday makeup touchup.

4 Bouquet, Divine Flowers, bespoke bunch similar to ours from $75

Ok again, this is a bit of a cheat… I don’t actually keep flowers in my handbag but I LOVE having a pretty posy in my house and pick up a bunch every fortnight.

5 Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Perfume 100mL, Discount Drug Store, $119.99

There are definitely times during my day when I need a quick spritz of a divine scent to take me from office to meetings to drinks and this is one of my faves.

6 Facesaver 30+, Ella Bache, $39

Sunscreen can strip your skin of its moisture, but not this one! Facesaver is enriched with vitamin E, green tea and shea butter to keep skin soft, moist and hydrated whilst protecting against UVA and UV. Ideal to keep in your purse for the gal on the go!

7 Long beaded necklace, $29.95, pink ring, $54.95, Adrift

I leave the house in a flurry every morning (definitely not a morning person) so choosing jewellery is usually in the too-hard basket. I always keep a necklace and a ring in a secret pocket of my bag incase I get invited out and need to glam up in a jiffy.

8 Radiance C Mist 100ml, Ella Bache, $38

This one is my best-kept secret: a refreshing glow in an instant. This little spritzer dispenses an antioxidant mist of vitamin C, tomato, pomegranate and white tea extract to hydrate and plump skin during the hot spring days.

9 Scarf, Sybils of Brisbane, $18.00

A fun and floaty scarf can transform from neck adornment to stylish bag accessory in a flash.

10 Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses, Da Rin Optometrist, $250

Statement sunnies are a must-have, and I adore these tortoiseshell beauties. Black sunglasses are SO over.

11 Ioco Neon Watch, Adrift, $29.95

So this one is a bit of a cheat because your watch is usually on your wrist instead of in your purse, but I still never leave home without it. I find checking a watch so much more elegant than pulling out a smartphone.
