Cute Animal Instagram Accounts You Need to Follow

These cuties are guaranteed to have you swooning on the reg.

Instagram is (basically) made up of three types of pictures: food, girls in activewear and cute animals. Oh, and maybe Kim Kardashian selfies.

But with so many animal Instagram accounts out there, it’s hard to know where to begin. So I’ve trawled the depths of Instagram to find some of the cutest animal Instagram accounts around. Yep – it’s a tough job, but someone had to do it!

This Wild Idea

Maddie, This Wild Idea

This beautiful puppy is the ultimate chiller. He wants to be involved in everything that his owners do, whether it’s taking a bath or mowing the lawn.

Bikkie the chip

Bikkie the chipmunk

Chipmunks Bikkie and Todd made us realise that Australia is seriously missing out on a bunch of cute rodents. What do we have? Mice. Rats. A few rabbits (OK, we had to build a fence so there were a lot of rabbits at one point). But we can probably all agree that chipmunks are cuter.

Piggy the French Bulldog

This little bulldog thing is cute. Super cute. But also in a slightly malevolent way? Like, I would not be remotely surprised if you told me he played the white orc in The Hobbit movies. I’m sure he’s not a one-armed killing machine bent on revenge, though… 72 per cent sure.

Ernest Hedgingway the hedgehog

Ernest Hedgingway the hedgehog

Lovers of books and hedgehogs, this one’s for you! Ernest Hedgingway’s account follows the adventures of this “persnickety hedgehog with a love of books, antiques and sleeping”. Who doesn’t love a hedgehog? They’re like little mobile lamingtons.

One of the most profitable animals on Instagram, Mr Bagel the chinchilla is not only extremely cute, but also an animal rights activist. Using his fame for good, he reminds his 53,000 followers to adopt new pets from rescue shelters.

Alfie and Gus, the Pointer brothers from Vancouver

These pointers from Vancouver love to dress up. Guaranteed heart-melting material right here.

John the bunny rabbit

Disclaimer: you may self-combust due to extreme cuteness levels from this account. Both adorable and majestic, this little rabbit named John is actually everything.

Norm the Pug

Norm the Pug

This list wouldn’t be complete without a pug in the mix – and Norm is possibly the trendiest little guy out there.

Io and Kili the bunny rabbits

What’s better than a bunny rabbit? TWO bunny rabbits! DUH. Io and Kili are two Swedish bunnies who will fill your feed with pure happiness.

Possibly the happiest shiba in all of the land, Maru Taro is a Doge lookalike from Tokyo that will brighten even the darkest of days.

Maru the cat

Maru the cat

Maru the Scottish fold cat is one of the internet’s biggest stars. This hilarious little guy loves getting himself into small, enclosed spaces such as boxes and bags. If it fits, he sits.

Check out the slow-mo videos of Dean, the basset hound from Toronto running around. SUCH FLOPSY. MANY DROOPS.

Daisy the travelling cat

Daisy the cat

Daisy the travelling Scottish cat’s Insta feed will tug at the heartstrings. She’s visited 11 countries and travelled to all kinds of exotic locations but nothing will stop her from looking disdainful in her photos – not even a majestic crown and tutu combo.

Otter or small human? You decide. Poncayan bathes, goes for joyrides with his owners, lounges on the couch and gets up to all kinds of mischief. And he is far too fabulous for this world.

Momo and milo the cats

Momo and milo the cats

This feed is full of beautiful photos of two beautiful British shorthair kitties named Momo and Milo. Could YOU pull off a Pikachu beanie or a watermelon hat and still look amazing? No. No, you couldn’t.

Lovers of fluffy little dogs, this Insta feed will be your haven. Penny is a rescue dog from California and is so damn cute that it’s almost comical.
