Out-of-the-box theming for corporate events are experiencing a resurgence and it’s not a moment too soon. Think, live acrobats artfully suspended from the ceiling, 3D projected images on every wall and even live sound effects - all are interactive and exciting additions that can add impact and a WOW factor to your next work function.

From a styling perspective, a striking monochromatic scheme, a naval influence, a riot of colour (think pop art), or even the classic metallic palette make a strong statement and breath-taking first impression when guests enter a venue or function space.

While first impressions count, keeping guests’ interests is equally important and can be achieved by incorporating interactive elements. For alfresco events, wet bars and cocktail stations are a terrific interactive element, while scattered picnic rugs and nearby food trucks make a business affair that little more relaxed for staff and clients alike. Rigging, custom-made lifebuoys and lifesized boats can really set the scene and maximise your event’s styling potential, while giant games are also a great addition with oversized chess sets, Jenga and even piñatas a terrific team building element.

Obtaining and sustaining the interests of guests should always be a top priority, especially if they are sharing the happenings of the event on social media. However, you must always remember to consider whether the event style is a true reflection of your company’s image in the marketplace. For example, while a clothing company can be frivolous, excessive and even cheeky it’s probably not a good idea for a prestige law firm.
