A Vogue-Style Runway Showcase Is Happening In Brisbane This Spring

And it’s giving us some serious Alice In Wonderland vibes.

By Siobhan Taylor | 16th August 2018

From bubblegum pinks to clashing prints, bold colour blocking to dainty linens, we’ve been daydreaming about summer styling ever since the first cold snap of winter swept into Brisbane. While we love to keep our eyes on the runways of New York, Paris and London for sartorial inspiration, our southern hemisphere locale means we have our very own approach to seasonal styling. With spring just around the corner, we are looking forward to the return of Brisbane's most famous spring runway show, Brisbane Arcade Spring Collection (Saturday, 1st September) which officially launches the week-long Brisbane Arcade Spring Flower Show (1st to 7th September), this year themed ‘Spring Fair’.

With Alice In Wonderland-esque vibes, this year’s ‘must attend’ Brisbane Arcade Spring Collection runway show under the stars in the Queen Street Mall will be an incredible display of local fashion and florals. Over 300 guests will enjoy an unmissable runway show of the latest spring collections from various designers and retailers residing in Brisbane Arcade. Featured brands include 2020 Optical, Darb Couture, Irma J Smith House of Fashion, Keri Craig Emporium, Maiocchi, Pia du Pradal, Stephen Dibb Jewellery and Tengdahl Australia together with WELLA and Issada Cosmetics. Following the runway show, guests will be will be whisked inside the beautiful Brisbane Arcade to enjoy a glamorous cocktail party where they can enjoy a tipple or two and inspect the exceptional flower displays up-close. This is a super exclusive event so make sure you purchase your tickets online immediately! Don’t miss out on one of the most illustrious fashion events on Brisbane’s event calendar.

If you can’t make the Brisbane Arcade Spring Collection event, the Spring Flower Show is on display all week from 1st to 7th September and a great opportunity to visit the city to celebrate the first week of spring. Adorned with colourful blooms fashioned into floral displays of carousel horses, cake displays, vintage bicycles and a Ferris wheel, this year’s Spring Flower Show will see Brisbane’s oldest and grandest shopping arcade, Brisbane Arcade transformed into a nostalgic and picturesque floral Spring Fair. Almost all the flowers including various orchids, species Gerberas, Carnations, Daffodils, Iris, Lillies, Chrysanthemum, Stocks, Snapdragons and Gladioli are being grown on local Brisbane flower farms belonging to Redlands Flowers especially for the Spring Flower Show.

The weeklong flower show is a truly special way to enjoy the very best fashion and natural beauty of Queensland, all while ringing in the return of the most beautiful season of the year. As one of the most illustrious and iconic venues in Brisbane, Brisbane Arcade truly celebrates the best of international and local fashion, as well as a distinctly-Brisbane personality that we love.
