By Bianca Licina | 15th May 2025

Welcome back to the Style Book Club, where we dish on the reads that had us hooked this month. The office has been buzzing with book swaps, passionate reccos, and plenty of “just one more chapter” moments. The sort of novels that make getting up for work the next day quite challenging.

We’ve devoured everything from thought-provoking memoirs to edge-of-your-seat thrillers, making for a reading list as exciting as it is eclectic.

Curious about what’s been keeping us up past bedtime? Check out our latest favourites below!

How To Seal Your Own Fate by Kristen Perrin – 4/5

The second edition in the series, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this newly released novel. A layered mystery that lingers like a chill in the air. A village where every smile hides a secret. A fortune teller’s last words. And a death that was never meant to be solved. Perrin spins a story that feels both timeless and electric, pulling you through twisted family histories and slippery alliances. The cast is irresistible — the kind of characters you suspect, adore, and dread all at once.

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini – 5/5

I can’t remember the last time a book moved me like The Kite Runner did. Set against the backdrop of Afghanistan from the 1960s to the early 2000s, it completely opened my eyes to another culture and part of the world. I adored the main characters and felt genuinely sad when it ended. This is a book everyone needs to read.

Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins – 5/5

As a Hunger Games fanatic, this was a must-read, and I got my hands on it the second it dropped (quite literally). Dark, unfiltered and (not-so) quietly brutal. It’s a savage masterpiece of trauma, rebellion and messy humanity. I devoured it and loved every twisted second.

The Inmate by Freida McFadden – 5/5

A gripping blend of mystery and thriller, The Inmate keeps you guessing from start to finish. Just when I thought I cracked the case, McFadden throws in a twist that flips everything on its head. Fast-paced, unpredictable, and utterly addictive — I couldn’t put it down. A must-read for anyone who loves a psychological rollercoaster!

Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros – 5/5

I’m so late to this book, but lord have mercy on me, I am SO invested. Strong female characters? Tick. Dragons? Tick. Hot men? TICK. It’s the perfect escape from reality.

The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins – 5/5

If you want to do a reset and some personal development, then this is the book for you. Mel has co-written this book with her daughter, and the Let Them Theory is life-changing.  I also love her concept around Let Me. I promise you will not regret reading this, and will most likely start listening to her podcast. Huge fan!
