BIGSOUND Is Back For Another Year Of Live Music

Catch them live on stage before they become everyone else's new fave band.

If you haven't heard of or attended BIGSOUND, consider this a divine intervention. As one of the biggest events on Queensland's cultural calendar, BIGSOUND is the opportunity for new acts, industry experts and punters alike to join together to celebrate Australia's thriving music scene. Setting up in Fortitude Valley for just a few days each year (4-7 September), it's a chance for young-gun musos to get some exposure and for local punters to experience the very best in new music.

All in all, it's a bloody good time.

With the likes of Flume, Rufus, Courtney Barnett, Megan Washington, The Temper Trap, A.B. Original, Remi, Gang of Youths and more gracing the stages of BIGSOUND, it's no surprise that the festival has garnered a reputation for hosting acts that go on to become some of the biggest names in Australian music. Running for four days and nights, the festival transforms Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley with 15+ venues hosting 130+ artists.

While the gigs and beers are well worth hitting the town for, BIGSOUND is more than just a 4-day party. The festival also hosts an exclusive conference that explores, questions and celebrates the future of music. With industry leaders giving intimate advice on everything from touring to technology, it's an incredible opportunity for acts to get firsthand insight into the wonderful world of music.

Brisbane gal through and through, Siobhan is an avid cider-enthusiast and a keen believer in brunch (house deposit be damned). When she's not at the beach, she can be spotted lusting after makeup she can't afford, re-watching The Office (the US version, obviously) or annoying her friends with her insane astrology theories (she's an Aquarius, FYI).
