The Bachelor Blunders: 5 Lessons Learnt

Sam Frost has been named as Australia's first Bachelorette.... so we're looking at 'what not to do' on the show - good luck, Sam!

Sam Wood is about to take the stage as the The Bachelor in 2015 - and we're pretty damn excited! While it’s all fun and games, we can’t help but think back to previous season trials, tribulations and WTF moments on last year's show that we hope we don't see a repeat of. (Who are we kidding, we'd love to see these again!) Ahhh, the memories.

So, grab the popcorn and get ready to let the Bachy back into your life in 2015.

PROPOSING TO THE ‘RIGHT’ GIRL

Of course we had to start with this one. Hearts fluttered when Australian bachelor Blake Garvey proposed to Sam Frost in picturesque South Africa. But weeks later he unexpectedly broke up with her. Australia went into a media frenzy and we later found out it was because he was in love with 3rd runner-up, Louise Pillidge. Talk about awkward! They say “when you know, you know”… clearly he didn’t ‘know’ at the time.

NOT GETTING ‘TOO COMFORTABLE’

In the first season of The Bachelor New Zealand this year, one of the girls got a bit too comfortable and let off some... uh, gas on the first date with Arthur, The Bachelor. While it isn’t the way we’d recommend to break the ice, he seemed to find it funny and it was no doubt entertaining for viewers!

MAKING SURE HE ACTUALLY SAID YOUR NAME IN A ROSE CEREMONY

The Bachelor has been on for many seasons in America, but we haven’t quite seen something this awkward. In season 18, American-Venezuelan bachelor Juan Pablo called one of the girls to accept a rose. Unfortunately, one of the bachelorettes thought it was her name called and had to awkwardly take her place back in line. The video is cringe-worthy! And… she did not get a rose.

MAKE A GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION

In season 17 of the American The Bachelor, one of the bachelorettes decided to do something different when she stepped out of the limo. She proceeded to backflip in a gown and unfortunately, fell in the midst of her second flip. Thankfully she received a rose after her flop.

DOUBLE CHECK YOUR LIPPY

In the first season of The Bachelor Australia, Anna met Tim and blew him away. After jokingly asking if she had her bright red lipstick on her teeth yet, it happened. Luckily, they both had a laugh and not to mention she won his heart in the end. They’re still madly in love!
