1. Style Thief

Kate Bosworth’s new app Style Thief is a game-changer. Fashion lovers can now ‘snap and steal’ the looks of other fashionistas by using their iPhone. Simply take a photo of someone’s smokin’ outfit and the app will present you with hundreds of styles that match the original pic - and you can even buy them straight from the app!

2. Pact

This motivating app allows you to earn money by sticking to your goals, paid by members who don’t stick to theirs. What better motivation could there be? Upload photos of your vegies or check in at the gym and other members will give it their stamp of approval so you can get your cash. It’s perfect for those of us that like to convince ourselves that one day off won’t matter.

3. Evernote

This nifty little app allows you to store notes in the form of text, a web page, images or audio. You can sort all your notes into notebooks and share them with others too. This app is perfect for iPhone users who like to research or save things to read later. Even if you only use it to save cat memes - we can guarantee you will find this app useful. As an added bonus, the app syncs across all your devices so you can access them anytime.

4. HiFutureSelf

Send your future you text messages with friendly reminders, positive affirmations and just general info that you want ‘future you’ to know. Remind yourself to do the dishes, do your squats, or pay that bill. You can also set the messages to be recurring so you will never forget your mum’s birthday again.

5. Period Tracker Lite

This app can come in handy for a number of reasons, but is obviously one just for the girls. Whether you are trying to make a baby, trying to avoid making a baby or have a tendency to lose track of when your period is due, Period Tracker can put your mind at ease. The app alerts you to all of the exciting stuff – like when you’re ovulating, when your fertility window is, when your period is due or how late your period is.

6. Uber

Uber is a taxi alternative app that connects riders to drivers in 70 major cities around the world, and has been making waves across Brisbane. Simply put in a ride request and a driver will come to collect you using your device’s GPS to pinpoint your exact location. Drivers can be rated, and you know exactly who is picking you up before you get in. Fares are simply debited from your credit card or PayPal account so you don’t have to fuss with change, and can jump straight out at your destination!

7. Allrecipes Dinner Spinner

Find the perfect meal to cook from a wide resource of user-generated recipes. You can search for specific meal types and cooking times or let the app randomise its searches for you. You can even add meals to your recipe box or ingredients to your shopping list. Because regular people upload recipes and not professional chefs, even the most culinary challenged will be able to find something they can manage.

8. Find My iPhone

If you’ve ever misplaced your iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch or Mac then this app is a must-have! The app includes a number of options that can help you to locate your device including playing a sound at full-volume for 2 minutes even if the device is on silent and showing the location of your device on a map. Other options include locking your device with a passcode, erasing all data or displaying a message on the lock screen.

9. Trackmyspend

Though there are a lot of finance tracking apps out there, we like this one because it was created by Money Smart – the Australian Government website designed to help you with your finances. There are no ads and it is simple and easy to use. All you have to do is input your budget and everything you spend your money on. You can save frequent purchases as favourites to make it even easier. The app helps you to sort your wants from needs and work out which areas you’re spending the most money on. It might even convince you to kick that coffee habit that’s costing you a fortune.

10. Kayak

It’s like a travel agent in your pocket! Use this app to search for the cheapest flights, hotels and cars as well as to keep track of your travel itinerary. You can also use the flight tracker function to check that your flight is on time. This app takes a lot of the headache out of planning a trip and is perfect for everyone from seasoned travellers to first time flyers.
