RJ Living Is Bringing Considered Australian Design To Brisbane

Right at home

If you’ve spent any time saving interiors on Instagram or curating your dream living room Pinterest board, chances are RJ Living has already caught your eye. Known for its relaxed yet refined approach to Australian design, the Melbourne-founded furniture brand has spent more than a decade quietly building a loyal following — and now, it’s officially bringing that vision north.

This next chapter marks a significant milestone for the brand, but one that feels entirely natural. After successful expansion into Sydney and continued growth online, Brisbane has long been part of the conversation.

“Queensland has been on our radar for some time,” the team shares. “We’ve seen strong organic demand from the region, and opening a showroom here felt like the natural next step to better serve our growing QLD customer base.”

Founded on a simple idea — to create beautifully designed furniture that feels considered, timeless and accessible — RJ Living has always been about more than chasing trends. Instead, the brand has focused on pieces designed for real life: sofas you actually sink into, dining tables made for long lunches, and furniture that looks just as good years down the track as it does on day one.

That philosophy resonates strongly in Brisbane, where homes are shaped by lifestyle as much as layout. Indoor and outdoor spaces blur, natural light is everything, and furniture needs to work hard without feeling heavy. From generous seating and sculptural dining pieces to a steadily evolving outdoor range, RJ Living’s collections feel particularly suited to the Queensland way of living.

The brand’s newest showroom brings that lifestyle to life. Spanning more than 500 square metres, the space has been designed as an immersive experience rather than a traditional retail environment. Soaring eight-metre ceilings, abundant natural light and thoughtfully curated room settings allow visitors to experience the furniture as it’s intended — lived in, layered and styled with ease.

Design details are woven throughout the space. A signature outdoor platform — complete with a cabana and intricate tiling — anchors the showroom, while a custom oak furniture wall with bullnose detailing pays homage to RJ Living’s craftsmanship. Soft curtains, curved lime-wash walls and warm, tonal finishes create a calm, welcoming flow from room to room, echoing the brand’s most recent collections and design direction.

While e-commerce remains a key part of the business, RJ Living continues to champion the importance of physical retail. “Furniture is best experienced in person,” the team explains. “Being able to see, touch and truly connect with each piece makes all the difference.”

That belief is what makes this expansion feel particularly meaningful. More than simply opening a new store, it represents confidence in the brand’s momentum and a long-term commitment to Queensland’s growing design community.

“We see Brisbane as a long-term investment,” they say. “It’s a vibrant, evolving city with a strong appreciation for design, and we’re excited to become part of that landscape.”

At its core, RJ Living’s journey has always been shaped by the people behind it — a passionate, detail-driven team committed to creating furniture that endures. This new space is a reflection of that collective effort, and a celebration of how far the brand has come.

For Brisbane locals, it’s an invitation to slow down, step inside, and experience RJ Living the way it’s meant to be experienced, thoughtfully, intentionally and with ease.
