With summer right around the corner and a whole population of starving Queenslanders absolutely itching for some vitamin D, you can’t blame our fave restaurants and cafes for making the move to the roof. From popular Italian joint Justin Lane on Burleigh Heads, all the way to Eagle Farm’s Racecourse (who recently welcomed their Society Summer Series Rooftop Bar, we honestly can’t get enough! I mean what’s not to love? A breezy brunch after a morning beach run, a sunset Aperol spritz, wining and dining under the stars, need we say more!

And who better to break through the roof than the Irish Charm in the heart of Surfers Paradise that we all know and love?! Waxy’s Irish Pub is the glitter strips’ go-to for pub grub and a good time with incredible weekly specials that always keep us coming back for more – did someone say half price pizza Thursdays? With live entertainment every night and heaps of events like trivia nights and musical bingo keeping the pub loud and lively, the rooftop will be a welcoming escape from the antics below.

Construction has already begun on the rooftop area with the second floor being completely renovated and re-created into a refined and classy space to enjoy a meal or drink. The rooftop will be an open-air area so we can say hello to beautiful beachside breezes and night time star gazing – all with a cocktail or two, of course. While we don’t have any images as of yet (that gorg’ feature image of New York’s Moxy Hotel is something we can only aspire to), we have just a taste of information to pique our interest.

The area is set to be open to the public around the 20th of October with more information being released closer to the date.

Keep your eye on this space as we uncover more details about the spot that we’re sure will become this summer’s go-to for post-beach bevvies!
