This year we saw the beloved Acai Bowl get tossed aside for the Poké Bowl, but before the year’s end, there will be another bowl trend to get on board with.
Buddha Bowls (also known as macro bowls or hippie bowls) are essentially a large bowl filled with grains, raw or roasted veggies, vegan or meat protein, greens, seeds and topped off with a delicious dressing.
Sounds pretty god damn good to us! But, we’ll be the first to admit that something this good never looks or tastes quite as great when you do it yourself at home. Thankfully, the creatives behind Coco Bliss are making our Buddha Bowl dreams a reality with the launch of Brisbane’s first ever dedicated Buddha Bowl bar, VILLA.
VILLA will be opening its doors in just two short weeks on Friday 17th November on Oxford Street in Bulimba, just two doors up from the Coco Bliss flagship location. Candice Kemp, Co-Founder and Creative Director behind Coco Bliss, said that the inspiration to open up a dedicated Buddha Bowl Bar came about last year when Coco Bliss took some of their customers on a trip to Bali.
“We got hooked on Buddha Bowls and the impressive variety of healthy fresh options that combine so many different cultures.” Says Candice.
“We decided a savoury version of Coco Bliss was just what Brisbane needed, or more importantly just what we needed to be eating every day!”
At VILLA you can expect the Buddha bowls to be nothing short of fresh, vibrant and delicious.
“We’ll be serving up an entire menu of nutritious bowls catering for both meat eaters and vegans that are absolutely bursting with flavour and texture, and cover all your macronutrient needs for a healthy diet.” Says Candice.
We don’t know exactly what will be featuring on the menu yet, but what we do know is that VILLA will have a scrumptious selection of 8 bowls to choose from.
All we have to say is let the Buddha Bowl addiction begin!
