If there’s one place in Brisbane that has made a name for itself as the ultimate destination for foodies, it’s the southside suburb of Sunnybank. Famous for their late-night offerings, drool-worthy restaurants and constant innovation, Sunnybank is a thriving hub of culture, karaoke and damn good eats.
(And just an aside, I was raised in Sunnybank so have a particular fondness for this corner of Brisbane.)
Each year Sunnybank transforms itself into an epic foodie trail exploring the very best flavours of Sunnybank – seriously, it’s epic. With over 130 delicious dishes, over 45 restaurants and outlets, and everything on offer for $2 per dish, the Sunnybank $2 Food Trail is your chance to graze on a range of Asian cuisines, such as Chinese, Japanese, Hong Kong Style, Vietnamese, Taiwanese and more!
Absolutely everything you could possibly be craving, from Dim Sum Taster Plates thanks to Parkland, Pho Beef Noodle Soup from That Viet Place, Chicken Laksa from Happy Bowl to Salmon & Prawn Nigiri from Sushi Paradise, Hot & Sour Soup from Zen Corner and Spicy Pork Balls from Shabu Shabu Hot Pot – the Sunnybank $2 Food Trail has it all. They’ve taken care of everyone, too, with vegetarian-friendly options as well as an exclusive Little Foodies Trail for the kids.
It’s all happening this Saturday, 14 July from 2pm. Taking over Sunnybank Plaza and Sunny Park Shopping Centre, it’s a huge celebration of everything that makes this southside suburb so popular. There will be plenty of live music and entertainment happening as well (two words: lion dancers!), making it the perfect day out with friends and family.
