If you haven’t heard, the iconic Story Bridge is turning 75, and what better way to celebrate than with a bridge full of food - literally. Forget a sweet sixteen, this birthday bash is set to host 60,000 people and include 80 food vendors, 20 food trucks, four bars and live music.
The folks behind Hamilton’s Eat Street Markets have come up with this finger-lickin’ festival where the bridge will be transformed into a foodie’s dream. The event may be closed to traffic from 7am to 7pm on Saturday July 5, but will open to empty stomachs and good times.
The event will pay tribute to the much loved and recognised icon and the significant contribution it has made to shape Brisbane’s identity.
Celebrations will run from 11am to 4pm and only 20,000 people are allowed on the bridge at one time, which may sound cosy, but who would want to miss out on the celebrating this historic event?
You’ll have to get in quick though 25,000 early bird tickets have already sold out! More tickets will be available at 6pm on June 1, so get your mouse clicking - they are sure to sell out quick.
