Feel like you’ve done all of Brisbane’s produce markets time and time again? Well there’s a new market in town for you to source all your fresh fruit and veg each weekend. Red Hill Farmers Markets launch at the end of this month bringing us a new go-to on Sunday morning, providing you didn’t live too largely on Saturday night.
Adorned by an awning of paw paw trees, the foodie, lifestyle and farmers markets will have stalls of fresh locally sourced goodness with a strong focus on spray-free, organic products. As well as fresh fruit, veg and other produce like honey, bread and seafood, market goers can also stroll through the interesting stalls, be lured in to the freshly cooked gourmet market foods (let’s be honest, its the main reason you went) and enjoy the atmosphere of live music and activities.
Ashgrove, Paddington and inner city dwellers can pedal their way to the markets along the Ithaca Creek bikeway (vintage bicycle with a basket is a must, obviously), or for those of us who are lazy or live further away there are over 400 free car parks available on site (which also incorporates the Broncos Leagues Club as well).
So gather your baskets and don on your hats for a morning in the sunshine, before heading home again with a jiggity jig and armloads of food.
The Red Hill Farmers Markets will be open each Sunday 6am until noon and are free to enter and dog friendly.
