Riverbar & Kitchen will have a special Hot Cross Bun Martini available over the Easter Weekend! Spiced rum, lemon, lime, cinnamon, toasted marshmallow syrup, and egg white make up the yummy Hot Cross Bun Martini. The Eat Street Markets won’t disappoint over the Easter weekend, as they’re open on Good Friday and Eater Saturday. You can also order delicious Easter Eggs & Bunnies from New Farm Confectionery in their shop container this coming weekend. Every vendor provides an experience for you to enjoy.

The Treasury Casino will be closed on Good Friday. But not to worry! It will be open from Saturday –  Easter Monday for your leisure. Why not head to The Kitty and try one of their delicious cocktails? Sounds like a fabulous long weekend treat!


If you need a bit of retail therapy to get your head away from chocolate (and to avoid the ongoing temptation), head to Queen St Mall and wander to The Myer Centre or down to Wintergarden. The Myer Centre will be open Saturday and Easter Monday, 10am -5pm. Alternatively, Wintergarden will also be open Saturday 9am – 5pm and Easter Monday 10:30am – 4pm.

One of the best ways to spend a day is of course shopping! The Westfield shopping centres (Carindale, Chermside, Garden City, Helensvale, North Lakes and Strathpine) will be open on Easter Saturday. There is bound to be something there to keep you occupied or to stock up for your holiday.

Need an evening activity? The Palace Centro Cinema will be open all Easter. With a fully licensed bar and café, you can see some of the best cinematic art to hit Brisbane, the Palace Centro Cinema is the best place to watch a movie.

Hitting up the markets is a classic way to spend a sunny day in Brisbane on the weekend. Luckily there are a few markets still bring out their stalls this Easter. The Jan Power’s Farmers Market in New Farm will be open on Saturday; The Eagle Farm Markets will be held on Easter Sunday and the Rocklea Markets will be going all out, open both days. Remember, fresh is best!


If ‘Indro’ is your local shopping destination, have no fear! Indooroopilly Shopping Centre will be open on Saturday and Easter Monday. This way, you can snatch up your last minute eggs or wait until they go on sale on the Monday. Why not also incorporate a sneaky shop at some of the designer stores since you’re already there?

IKEA will be open on Saturday and Easter Monday from 9am-6pm. There will be a range of Easter deals with up to 60% off selected items. Take along the kids to meet the Easter Bunny on Saturday from 9am – 1pm before he has to hop to work that night! You can also start the day with a hot breakfast for $3.49..bargain!

Take the kids along to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary this Easter where they can play on the jumping castle, get their face painted, take part in an Easter Animal Quiz, receive some special Easter Treats and sit down for a FREE movie screening of ‘HOP’.
