We have American restaurants aplenty in Brisbane, and we’re just about to get another! This time it’s all about the classic homeland favourite, Hotdogs!
The Manhattan Line will take over the nook that previously housed Sardine Tin on Little Stanley Street.
Co-owners Chris Denman and Stevie Waite (behind the Valley’s Fourth Wall) are planning to have the venue up and running before the end of the year, but have a lot of work to do before then.
“We want to capture the rawness of the New York City streets, the ones tucked away that only the locals know about - the real Manhattan,” says Denman. “So you can expect a lot of Graff art, industrial furniture and fat beats.
“It was previously a very classic and clean space, and that just isn't our style. We want to bring soul into the space and create something really fun with a personality of its own.
“The Manhattan Line, to us, represents the subway line into Manhattan where you meet such an eclectic and diversified group of people.”
With Chris’s reputation as one of Brisbane’s best bartenders, of course you can expect big things from the back bar, with a heavy focus on American whiskies, along with a selection of scotches and rums, a concise range of beers and rotating cocktails on tap.
“While we are a restaurant we believe the drinks are as important and should not be a second thought. Simply put - you should expect a lot.”
We’ll also be expecting a lot from the “pimped out” hotdogs and other American favourites on the menu.
“(Hotdogs are) such a classic staple in New York City life, so we wanted to put our own touches on this and make it a staple of Brisbane life. You will also find a select contingent of Americana styled side dishes and a sneaky classic salad.”
“Without jinxing ourselves, everything is going beautifully at the moment and we are still on track for a New Year’s Eve opening."
