Morning After serves up the perfect fix for weekend woes

Morning After serves up the perfect fix for weekend woes

The newest place to rise, shine and revive after a night out.

We’re of the firm belief that there’s nothing a decent brunch (or coffee) can’t fix after a big night out on the town. And while we fear the killer hangover, we’ve found a venue serving up a fix that makes the thought a little less scary.

West End’s Morning After café, located within the Glass Factory residential development, is built on the mantra “enjoy the night before, indulge the morning after” and has been the brainchild of mother and son duo Yianni and Soula Passaris, previously of iconic Italian restaurant Dell’Ugo.

While the venue name is cleverly named for weekend warriors with horrific hangovers, sore heads (and possibly diners wearing the same clothes as the night before), its name actually refers to the menu offerings. The café offers all-day-breakfast dishes (morning) and from 11.30am to 3pm (after) there are heartier brunch/lunch meals, including a cheeseburger, quinoa salad, tempura barramundi taco and hand-rolled ink linguine.

The café opens from 7am with sweet, healthy and greasy brekky dishes, including sweet corn pakora with fried egg, haloumi and avocado; sausage and egg MaMuffin; potato rosti with poached eggs; buttermilk and ricotta hotcakes; and breakfast carbonara.

No, you didn’t misread that. Carbonara for breakfast is a thing. And it’s awesome.

Proud supporters of local and national businesses, Morning After source their granola from The Unrefined and their honey from Bee One Third.

Coffee is obviously hugely important for any morning after and the café has enlisted Uncle Joe’s and Five Senses to provide the coffee in espresso, batch brew and pour over styles. If coffee isn’t your thing, their handcrafted elixirs might be. Choose from green, carrot or vanilla concoctions or go for an all-out sugar fest with the peanut butter elixir. Morning After is also fully licensed, so if diners want to skip the elixirs and coffee and go straight for the hair of the dog, they can!

The venue features an uber chic white and green design to create a warm and inviting atmosphere, with pops of gold and even some AstroTurf providing a contemporary and relaxed vibe perfect for any kind of morning after you might have.
