We Checked Out The New Look Menu At Moreish Cafe And Were Absolutely Blown Away

Three words: red velvet pancakes.

Cute plants, delectable drinks, and almost too pretty to eat food. The much loved Moreish Café in Stones Corner is back and better than ever with a fresh new look and modern menu.

After a devastating fire gutted their kitchen, owner Jeff Zaphir took it as an opportunity to give his café a massive revamp, removing their industrial and monochrome interior and replacing it with a welcoming and open space. Filled with pops of lush greenery and crisp white and grey backdrop, the simple canvas gives a fresh and friendly vibe to the busy café.

To contrast with their new space, their new menu, co-created by Jeff and head chef Daniel Christie, is full of vibrant colours and delicious flavours. It’s a mixture of fresh ideas and old classics, making a statement on the plate as it’s delivered in front of you - a tasty and visual delight all at once.

We were spoilt for choice when we checked out the amazing menu, personally made and delivered by head chef Daniel Christie, who has 20 years of culinary experience behind him and an eye for impeccable detail.

Our breaky feast started with everyone’s brunch time favourite, eggs benedict which came with house made hollandaise, crispy bacon and perfectly poached eggs. It’s a must try if you’re the type of person who always orders the same thing.

Next was a kitchen special – red velvet pancakes with Persian floss. Moist, thin, and layered with cream, they were a pancake fiend’s dream. Garnished with edible flowers and strawberries on the side, they were almost too pretty to eat.

If super sweet breakfast isn’t your thing, try pairing it with the beetroot latte. It complimented the sweetness of the pancakes, and made for one darn good Instagram pic.

The last dish was one for the health freaks and those silly enough to believe calories actually count at breakfast. The buddha bowl was full of all the green goodness you could possibly ask for – broccoli, spinach, and kale, as well as house made beetroot falafel. If you’re keen on all things green, order the green smoothie to have alongside it. It’ll keep that winter cold away for sure.

If you’re only popping in for a drink, then you must try the adorable strawberry milkshake, served in the cutest little lightbulb glass. Be warned, it tastes like heaven and will make you incredibly reminiscent of your childhood!
