While some men enjoy shopping, many look for the comfiest seat to settle down on while their partner hits the stores. With Lord of The Wings opening its doors in Westfield Carindale Monday April 20,there is a new place to seek comfort. They are bringing the American style Sports Bar to the centre, for those who prefer food and sport therapy over retail therapy.
The Ghanem Group, who has already brought Brisbane BlackBird Bar and Grill and Byblos, are adapting the 30 plus store franchise to suit the Australian market. Their menu will boast top grade lean meats, some healthier selections as well as slightly naughtier options of burgers, hot dogs and of course, wings.
Being the star of the show, LOTW take their wings very seriously. Available in sixteen different sauces, there’s a win to suit even the fussiest wing aficionado. Flavours range from suicide hot, to smokey, sweet, creamy and mild flavours including buffalo, citrus pepper, sweet chili, BBQ honey and smokey and lemon coriander - all served with a side of blue cheese dip. Spice fans have been predicted to come from near and far to take on the Suicide Buffalo sauce. A spokeperson for The Ghanem Group said his palate took a full day to recover after his taste testing of the fiery sauce.
Aside from delivering on great food, Lord of the Wing’s will apply other elements of their already successful business formula to their new venture: a vibrant atmosphere, friendly service, and great beverages at value for money. As with Blackbird and Byblos, they have create a truly unique beverage list with a mix of ‘adult milkshakes’ (avocado daiquriri anyone?), cocktails from around $12, alcoholic slushies from only $10, as well as the best beers Australia and America have to offer.
The fun diner-style fitout of bright colours and rustic recycled timber and large TV screens gives the indoor space an outdoor courtyard feel. Lord of the Wings has been designed to be the ideal meeting place for friends, after work drinks and a bite as well as THE place for events such as the Super Bowl, Rugby World Cup and the Stanley Cup.
With their mouth-watering food and their clear understanding of the Australian market, it is clear that the opening Lord of the Wings Carindale is changing the shopping centre food game.
