There’s nothing better than finding ‘your new local’, whether that’s a pub, café or restaurant.
New Farm and Valley residents are lucky enough to welcome cool new cafe King Arthur – and we reckon it’s set to become a ‘new local’ for many foodies in the area.
Taking up the former digs of a design studio, King Arthur Cafe is understated, but oh-so-cool.
Run by the team behind South Brisbane fave Merriweather, the menu is again dedicated to their suppliers, and is heavily influenced by Food Connect – a local group that sources all their produce from small holdings and experienced organic farmers.
The breakfast menu is anything but old school, serving up everything from sprout artisan bakery sourdough with spreads, sourdough crumpets, and quinoa & chai porridge, to locally caught charcoal pilchards, Mt Cotton mushrooms, and slow cooked goat with tomato and oregano. Gotta love that!
Their lunch menu starts at 11am daily, and stars a vast range of creatively delicious options to choose from. There is wood smoked fish with hazelnut and pickled radish, as well as tarragon gnocchi, and roasted duck with fig and blue cheese. Sandwiches and takeaway salads (which change daily) take pride of place in the front glass cabinet.
Everything here is produced at the highest quality and is made in-house, including all of their jams and relishes. It even has a wide range of vegetarian options too, so it’s perfect for everyone.
There is a great drinks menu with coffee, tea, and smoothies. They also have a range of coldpress juices, old fashion sodas, and coffee beans from local brew-star Coffee Supreme.
