The G20 may have the limelight but let’s be frank, everybody’s here for the food. Brisbane world-class restaurants are serving up an impressive program this November!

While most of us have access to our city’s delectable dining landscape year round, The Group of Twenty (and their vast posses) have to eat while they’re here too! Indeed, there is no better time for local business to thrive and exhibit Brisbane’s exquisite culinary offering. Enter Global Flavours –a month-long celebration of our internationally on par cuisine and produce.

Perhaps the best part of the festivities is that we, fellow residents, also get to embrace the special offers, free live music (programmed by The City Sounds) and more! With worldly influences from Asia the Pacific, Europe, South America and elsewhere, combined with the freshest ingredients; 'tis going to be a scrumptious lead up to the Christmas season. We share some of our picks for a Global Flavours feast.

Customs House

Perhaps no restaurant is more old-world Brisbane than the ever-elegant Customs House. Some may have overlooked it as a river view dining option but not for long! Designed for Global Flavours, their Farm to Table lunch and dinner menu includes a scrumptious two or three-course option, highlighting local food that is sustainably managed and grown. Prices range from $66pp for two courses and $83pp for three.

As one of Queensland’s most awarded restaurants, Esquire embodies all that is inventive and innovative on the Brisbane culinary map. With a fantastic menu centered upon their famous philosophy, ‘take only what you need’, their known for adding an extra dimension to cuisine. For any reveler looking to really take in the river views and challenge flavour pre-conceptions, their degustation menu is a must-try. Prices range from $90 to $155 –subject to how adventurous you’re feeling!

Blending impeccable culinary quality with flamboyant creativity, Moda Restaurant is the brainchild of Javier Codina and Francois le Saveant. The classy establishment provides a comprehensive wine selection to satisfy even the most cynical of grape critics. Their array of accompanying drink options compliments the sumptuous European menu, offering guests a full dining experience. Moda’s Global Flavours share menu prices range from $46 for two or $78 for three.

Bistro Allure

Centered at the prestigious Pullman King George Square Hotel, Bistro Allure (pictured) is a true cosmopolitan restaurant. Amidst a chic set-up, open-plan kitchen and wood fired oven, the menu explores a myriad of cultures and styles. Although perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner –we’ve got our eye on their evening nibbles and matching wine list! Catch up with a friend and enjoy three tapas dishes for two with a glass of selected Pullman white, red or sparkling wine for $29.50pp.

Alchemy Bar + Restaurant

Located in the prestigious Eagle Street riverside precinct and boasting decedent story bridge views, Alchemy offers a relaxed atmosphere alongside an exquisite menu. Their modern Australian cuisine peppered with French influences is the creation of head chef and owner, Brad Jolly. For the full Alchemy experience start with a unique cocktail at the flourishing bar before a Queensland produce inspired six-course degustation lunch or dinner for $125pp or $185pp with matching wines.
